rear brembo brakes

OK guys, I know many consider this a useless upgrade that is overkill; after all the stock Aero brakes (especially w/ the rear vented from the factory that I have) are quite good and more than sufficient even at higher power levels. I'm more interested in doing this strictly for cosmetics. Of course I want them to function, at least as well as the stock setup, but I'm wondering if anyone has seen this done on a 9-5. I know there are out of box solutions, but I would rather know if any can be retrofitted to the current setup; For example the Cobalt SS kit is a direct bolt on for the front, so I'm looking to see if I can source a caliper bracket/brembo caliper from somewhere and use the existing rear rotor, retaining the factory E-brake setup in the process.

I respectfully ask to please keep the discussion about why this isn't necessary out of this thread, if that is your opinion.

Find a set of radial mount rear calipers from the Porche 993 CS4, which uses a 299mm rotor, just a mm smaller than the 9-5 Aero rotor. You'll need to have adapters made and source longer bolts.

EDIT: not sure about the rotor width though....

I guess the easiest thing to do would be to get my hands on the caliper bracket for the porsche caliper, get the bracket for the SAAB caliper, and take it to a machine shop to get a hybrid made...damn this almost needs to be done with the whole hub assembly/rotor in place to get it right

Many thanks for this. I found his email and contacted him. Hopefully I'll get some feedback soon. Looks like he did a 996 caliper, but I feel like the 993 caliper may match the Cobalt Brembo a little better from a style perspective:

The 993 rears are also slightly narrower than the 996, allowing you to fit them under 17" wheels. I'm not sure whether the 996 rears need 18s but I believe the fronts do.

IIRC, the 996 are tougher to find and more desired as upgrades for 993 owners and Audi folks. The 996 went to monobloc construction while the 993s are two-piece calipers. (I have 993 fronts using GS-made adapters.)
