No progress. Just miles

Everyone loves cell phone panoramas. Right? Right.

It's the honest answer. You can build these cars in any direction. Only you know which you'd prefer.

This.

Fun, reliable, street car that's competent enough to occasionally see the track is my direction. So I have modest suspension at a reasonable ride height, reasonable wheels, etc. Just basics.

If you want to build a dedicated track car, my answers aren't going to work for you. Same for if you want to build a slammed show car.

If you want a more specific answer, the one thing that i could never go back to stock with is the steering wheel.

rebuilding the motor currently. have an aluminum radiator. looking into getting sway bars, coilovers, hardtop, wheels, carbon fiber duckbill trunk and a decent stainless exhaust. ideally i'd probably grab a bunch of Racing beat parts but they are kind of over priced.

Nice!

I'd recommend looking at some chassis bracing items with that list. Roll bar, frame fails, fender braces etc. Without that stuff and with my modestly stiff (440#F 275#R) springs, the you really feel the chassis flexing over bumps. I'm looking at a FlyinMiata Butterfly Brace as soon as funds allow

Tires were starting to show cords, so I threw on the spare wheels as a temporary thing.

However, it drives so nice on 14's... I may not go back to 15's. The steelies are growing on me, too.

In other news, I also have a trunk full of LSD.

Another SLMP adventure. Very small turnout, very laid back.

Not much to report. Was very slow (crappy mis-matched no name all seasons) but consistent. The tires were a definite lesson in smooth inputs so that really wasn't a bad thing, learned a fair bit from that. Had a blast and the car never missed a beat. If anything it's improved since the air bag light went from flashing to staying on steady, much less annoying that way.

Onto some pics! These few are not mine.

(me in the blue t-shirt)

Micah at the helm:

Friday night while everyone else had gone to get food and I had the entire place to myself I grabbed a few pics.

While we're stealing Erika's photos from this weekend: This car is a hoot to drive, especially on the crappy tires. I can't thank Brian enough for letting such a terrible driver as myself beat the snot out of it without thinking twice.

And just so this thread has a little Saab content:

Oh, and I'm strongly considering unloading all my Saab crap once and for all and picking up another winter Miata. Anyone want a rust free SoCal 9000 Aero?

The car looks awesome on the Steelies - much better than with the alloy wheels you had on before in my view. Much more vintage Lotus Elan in style.

Thanks! I'm also still surprised with how much I like the steelies.

Another from today...
