Very true. That will be happening once I recover from the tires I just bought. 205/50 Star Specs.... Ventus RS-3's are backordered until the end of April.

star specs are a better all around tire imho anyway. the rs3's are sketchy in the rain, and non-optimal temps.

I disagree, at least partially. RS3's have excellent lateral grip in the rain and braking grip is decent. I do get a lot of axle hop on acceleration in the wet. Part of that is due to non-LSD and crappy front-end geometry. Can't say I've noticed poor performance in a variety of temps either. I have very little time spent on * Specs, however.

I was very happy with the RS3's on my 9000. I imagine I'll be just as pleased with the Star Specs.

Which should be on the car tomorrow. Order Sunday night, deliver Tuesday. TireRack FTW.

a lot of evo guys have set track records on RS3's. they are definitely good, but the consensus seems to be that the star specs can get slippery in very hot conditions, while the rs3 can take a very long time to get up to temp when below 50 degrees out. (this is a time attack crowd, so very little warm up)

it has been commented that the star spec is possibly on the edge of being the best all around HPDE/entry level competition street tire in many places.

i was gonna pick up a set of rs3's actually for my track wheels, since i have stars on stock wheels...but the rs3's seem to be very hard to get right now.

Well those are interesting.

Few pics from today. REALLY annoyed with myself that I didn't get more, given that this spot is usually packed. Oh well.

Awesome pic, font end shape and the drift immediately makes me think of the 'so good' meme face...
