The styling looks older than '98. Because they changed the look of the Grand Cherokees and the Cherokees EVER so slightly in '98. A little more rounded around the edges.

I don't think so dude. The WJ came in MY99. It's not a Laredo either, because those didn't have color-matched bumpers and lower side panels. Many Laredos look terrible today because those panels are super faded to a lovely shade of McDonald's Hamburger Gray.

They did make a few mid-cycle changes in 96, like the rear window that opens separate from the tailgate. But other than that I don't recall from when I was shopping ZJs last year.

Here's a hint. There is a link between that car, and Saab.

Figure it out...

Is it an older Volvo or Spyker?

As for the future car, I have no idea.

Yeah, I guess my jeep style guessing wasn't as good as I thought it was. I guess '98 was strictly the year they changes the grill and lights on the regular Cherokees. They rounded the edges off. I thought I knew more than I did. My dad used to have an '84 Grand Wagoneer and we still have a '96 Cherokee sport. It's crap. Haha the '84 was better. Anyway onto more important subjects.......

Yep. They made 15-17 cars from '47-'48.

Ok, back to Jim's.

Still wrong. The ZJ ran all the way to 1998 including the laredo. In 1999 the WJ was introduced, and it wasn't just rounded edges. The 1999+ JGCs shared about 127 parts with the older ZJ's, mostly fasteners.

Not the same:
