Got a little Silly also.........

Went to an auction a month ago and reconnected with some Mopar Muscle after 43 years of withdrawal. Had a 1970 Duster 340 from '70 to '73. Having a ball with it, but it's bark is worse than it's bite. Plenty of power, but the 2.73 open diff. rear end needs to be replaced with a 3.55/3.73 Sure Grip unit. I've been putting the finishing touches on it and sorting out a few things as I go. Year One has everything for these cars, as does Classic Industries and a few others. Napa has a lot of stuff too. Great Fun! The bad news is now I have to sell my VigVert- see the FS post. I'll be keeping my DD- 2000 9-3 Scarab w/72K miles

Nice! the 340 gets a little overlooked against the 440 and the hemi, but it can make awesome power, especially in a 'small' car.

Cheatin

Thanks! Felt a little guilty at first- cheatin on my Saabs- but I'm getting over it. Put the new powder coated valve cover on the VigVert today and took it for a drive.

With the 2.73 rear gears, the Dart wouldn't stand a chance up against the Vig. But the noise from the exhaust and open secondaries of the Edelbrock combo and the 383's torque is something my Vig will never be able to reproduce! OK, I'm regressing back to the 70's and 60's, but it sure is fun!

Some Babe ran up to my car at the post office yelling and I thought the car was on fire. She couldn't say enough about how much she loved the looks and sounds. And I'm thinkin- you look pretty good yourself! Don't want to get in trouble with my wife, so I behaved myself.

Saturday was MegaCruise at Skip's in Merrimack, Ma. 500 street rods! Cruise nights every night all summer within 30 minutes of my house! Having a Ball!

Yeah Muncie M22 Rock Crusher! That Camaro is a light car and the ZZ454 could take it into the 12's no problem. 12 Bolt/Posi 4.11's and slicks will make that car tough to beat.

New England dragway is having a three day street machine reunion in August. They are also putting on the Amherst last sunday of the month gathering there from now on. Amherst got displaced by an over 55 community being built there. Get the latest issue of Whip's Wheels for the latest schedules.

It has a type 4 12 bolt posi with 3.73's. It had 4.11's but they were absurd on the street and uncomfortable on the highway going 65! The crappy 427 we pulled out could spin the tires through third gear, so I can only imagine what this brand new ZZ454 is going to be like. He is definitely going to have to invest in some bigger rear tires/wheels.

It also has a 4 wheel power discs that were just installed. Pretty cool car.

Now THAT'S an engine! See through oil pan, headers on the floor, open chamber aluminum heads. Prolly 600 HP! What a cool Dad you have. The 3.73's are a good compromise. That thing will need some tall slicks. Don't throw away the 4.11's- wanna redline in top gear through the traps! What's gonna happen to the "crappy" ole 427?

The old 427 had an impressive build sheet that turned out to be 90% lies. Its a 2 bolt HI PERF 454 70's block with a GM 6223 427 crank, 9.8:1 KB pistons, EP2 cam (non roller), double roller timing chain, oval port iron heads and a chinese intake manifold. Its going to get looked over and sold. Interested?

Dad's other toy, mostly home made parts:
