JLausch | No clue. Wouldn't worry about it though unless you have moisture.

Imspace2 | Any idea on how they fixed the trunk trim piece? Just picked up my '11 and want to check that hose/seal to just make sure

btw GA check your trunk lol. We had a slight water leak from a poorly sealed trim piece that we caught right away the first time things got wet. Apparently the other 2010 they have at the same dealership has that issue as well, or so they think, the one tech noticed moisture while he was hauling some stuff (its a demo, not general inventory, and one of the first ones) That insulation donut in the spare tire well was damp on mine.... All issues were resolved though right away and its been great ever since, still gets lots of looks and compliments.... |

Congrats on getting this handled the right way. From your previous descriptions, it sounded as if a buy back was in the works, Saab just needed to go through the hoops to make it happen. I also have a 2010 9-5 Aero (identical to JLausch's) and mine has been quite good, no glitches or anything. |

JLausch | Glad to hear they took the high road. I'm sure this one will be better, our 2010 has been a dream after the first minor glitches were addressed after delivery

Turbo00 | Glad to hear they did the right thing. Post some pics of the new car!

rcandre2 | Well I promised an update.... Saab bought back my 2010 9-5 and I just took delivery of my new 2011 fully loaded (minus rear tvs) 9-5. It is white on parchment and I just had e windows tinted.... Looks really sharp... Better than the black on black I had in my opinion. So it looks like my problem is no fully resolved. By the way... I LOVE this car!

JLausch | Hopefully this fixes the issue so we don't have to hear about this anymore.... if they can resolve the issue a buy back won't be necessary and everyone wins.

Curious as to what happened with this. Please update us. Thanks |

rcandre2 | Well they supposedly replace the front and rear axle sensors... they don't know if this will stop the issue but either way I've really had enough with this car and I'm so close to taking the legal route if they don't buy it back very soon. Thanks for the post!

Chadwick | It looks like an internal fault or a voltage issue of some sort with the headlight levelling system. Since there are 4 sensors, I wouldn't think one bad one could make it move them up and down like that.

rcandre2 | Apparently Saab is taking a stab in the dark in trying to fix my headlight issue. They have ordered both front and rear sensors in hopes of trying to fix the problem. They ordered them today and said it would take 3-5 business days before they come in. They have had my car continuously now since April 20th and they don't expect me to get my car back until later next week. What a joke. If I don't get it back until next Wednesday let's say, it will have been in service for a total of 20 days of the first 26 days I've owned it. What a joke.

Here's a video of the headlight issue I have. The dealer has had the car since Wednesday and they claim that they can't figure out what is causing this. They also say that they haven't been able to replicate it. That's why I took the video... so they'd have no excuse and couldn't tell me "There is no problem." I even got pulled over by a state cop on my way home and he asked me "Why are you flashing your brights at everyone?" I still feel like I'm one step closer to a buy back so I can finally get myself into another new but defect-free Saab. Every issue besides the windshield centers around the electronics. |

I really don't know what to say. That is a very bad situation all around. I would be quite upset to make such an investment to receive a product which is functioning so poorly. Are there any other dealers local to you? Sometimes a fresh mind can diagnose problems others have scratched their head over. Like I said, I'm betting these techs don't really have any wrench time in on the new 9-5's. |

rcandre2 | The dealer nor Saab have returned my calls today so I guess they still want to keep my car for more testing. Tomorrow will make it day number 12 my car has been at the dealer. I've owned my car for now a total of 18 days... Only been able to drive it for 6 of those... Ridiculous. When I hear back on the status I will update. Thanks!

Sorry to hear this, I think you've given them a lot of chances to make this right. Is the dealer aware that you've contacted a law firm and are considering litigation? That may get them to move a bit quicker. It's not really unexpected that a few first-year lemons pop up, but that doesn't mean it's excusable. Please keep us posted on this! Chris |

Well, Saab still has my car and at this point it is getting ridiculous. I also just noticed that my window sticker says "Reissue." All of the problems with this car are now beyond coincidental... I have a lemon plus whatever the selling dealer dumped on me. I've been driving a loaner Hyundai more than my new Saab I just spent $$$$$$ on. I sent a law firm all of the paperwork on my car (my little car diary that chronicles each day, dealer service records...) and they have offered to take my case to court at no cost to me. They specialize in Lemon Law cases and are very selective with their cases. They also have a 94% winning record. I've decided to hold off for a few days because I still think that Saab will step up and take this car back and help me get into a new one. If I see no progress this week then I will end up going the legal route. I'll keep you guys updated. Thanks! |

The way it is going today I don't think my car will be ready until Monday. So that would make it 11 out of the first 17 days that my car will have been at the dealer. I think you have a good point about making this story viral... Maybe I'll give them a day or two to offer a buyback before I do (You listening Saab????). A defective windshield and headlamps that move up and down all over the place while driving are definitely safety risks. |

Sorry to hear your troubles. If you want action, get this thing going viral. Send your story to SaabsUnited, Swade & his new blog, jalopnik, autoblog, etc. Saab is getting very conscious of its online presence, and this will most certainly get their attention. The last thing they need right now is word spreading all over the internet that their new flagship is this buggy. Sounds to me like you got a first-year lemon. Some people will avoid first-year cars for this very reason. Hopefully Saab will make it right with you and provide you with either A) a fix for your car or B) a new car. |

You should maybe send that to saab. None of us work for them. That being said, that sucks. If they can't fix it, they will lemon law it. So far none of your issues seem to posing a safety risk, so I wouldn't worry about that. I would demand a Saab loaner until it's fixed though. Also call Saab na and request a rep to evaluate the car. |
