AGadmin Well there is an ad on the site right now but that will be changed to host vendor banners. Other then that I have told them to not put ads on the site for members.. The office is 95% men, I am the only female forum manager, so I get my way, and no one likes pissing off a woman.

PaulH Guests are where the $$$ are at, right helena? I've said this before but I'll said it again, I'd be fucking pissed if i were paying for ad views on a VS site, it seems that the guest counts shoot up right after they take over. Nothing like manipulating statistics!

aireeca True enough about the members. After all, you don't get paid for membership. You get paid for guest counts. So, those looky-Lous? Boo!

AGadmin It was the mods choice to leave, not our choice. If members want to leave i can not help that.

Also as i have stated before guests see ads members don't. Saab central only has visitor ads.

AGadmin Some sites have donating or paying members, was trying to clarify what was being asked. Not saying it will happen here.
04-06-2011 09:11 AM
PoisonBeef what is a paying member?

Fat chance I'll pay to play here.
04-06-2011 09:10 AM
AGadmin Are you asking about being a vendor or a paying member of the site.

Any existing vendors are grandfathered in.
every case is different depends o what they buy how many sites etc
04-06-2011 09:09 AM
Topher It's probably best to go through their sales team for this.
04-06-2011 09:08 AM
AGadmin Like i have said I do not know, are you currently a sponsor?
04-06-2011 09:06 AM
GenuineSaab OK so what is the cost for sponsorship here?

AGadmin There is always 2 sides to every story and yes you may think he is right but just go ask the admins and mods on that site about that situation. Member claim to be against "spam" and advertising and want members to be part of their community well that gentleman came on to the site and the first 5 posts he made where about his gauge interest and advertising for the person he was working with. Other vendors ( that pay for the privilege and give back to the community) got upset about it, and the mods thought it was rude to just come into a community like that. We offered him to do his gauge interest for free but he would have to take the ads out of his signature. He did not like that idea.

WOW.

I suggest everybody read that. As a customer who has put together successful group buys in the past, that is pretty troubling.
