yeah i thought the acronyms and abbreviations posts were funny... Maybe we need to make a topic just to argue about this so the mods dont get upset. (sorry not trying to be a smart ass) And i think it was wyld that said STFU, but that was so funny... you had me cracking up in the middle of the cadillac showroom!
Try finding a 9000 Aero in white (only made in 1994) itsso hard to find one! AND if you do find one i bet it will be an automatic. Ive seen one manual white one come through our dealer and i made the guy take me for a ride .... My mom has a white aero but yes its an automatic.

Please stay on topic, guys. Not trying to be a dick or anything but that was like 3348438 posts stating the difference between acronyms and abbreviations. now 3348438 +1 thanks to me.
Anyways yes, I would love to find a white 9-3SE 3 door with a 5 speed. I have found a few, but I require leather interior, and to find white, 3 door, manual trans, and leather is damn near impossible.

Yeah, I can't recall seeing many white ng900 convertibles...nice car though!
And yeah, the attachment limit kinda sucks...that's my I'm hosting my images elsewhere and posting them

Ha, sorry, all the Wikipedia-ing led me to wonder what the hell Volvo could have stood for, because, y'know, I never gave a shit until now. Well, look what I found...
Anyway yeah, white cars, can't say I'm a fan. It's hard to do white right and I've just never liked it on a Saab. Darker colors look better on these cars, IMHO.

im gonna have to go with stromer off the top of my head, an acronym to me has always been a bunch of initials you can pronounce, but an abbreviated word..... ehhhh no. an abbreviation is as follows. continued -> cont. and Et cetera -> etc.
agrees with stromer and me, wikipedia considers something like "ftw" an initialism, something where the intials of the phrase are pronounced like the individual letters
wikipedia also agrees with me about an abbr. or abbrev.
AND while im at it with wikipedia, burns, its not a sac really.... keep it swedish man.

|stromer||Well, for us Americans it is true.|

thanks Mr linguist how bout you just STFU hows that one....
|01-14-2006 07:51 PM|
|stromer||Actually, that is an abreviation, not an acronym. An acronym is when you take the first letters of all the words to form a new word that you pronounce. NATO, for example. An abbreviation is the same first letter of the word, but not to form a new word. ABS, is spoken as letters, not like the trim bit I have on my stomach. And ftw falls into this catagory as well.|
