AeroDynamic yeah i thought the acronyms and abbreviations posts were funny... Maybe we need to make a topic just to argue about this so the mods dont get upset. (sorry not trying to be a smart ass) And i think it was wyld that said STFU, but that was so funny... you had me cracking up in the middle of the cadillac showroom!

Try finding a 9000 Aero in white (only made in 1994) itsso hard to find one! AND if you do find one i bet it will be an automatic. Ive seen one manual white one come through our dealer and i made the guy take me for a ride .... My mom has a white aero but yes its an automatic.

I didn't think Saab ever made a 2 door 9-3SE?

JK Imho? I think that's a town in Canada (if pronounced, a-la acronym...???) and that is where I had a run in with the Canadian Mounted Police in my WHITE c900T "SPG"
01-14-2006 08:45 PM
guru Ha, sorry, all the Wikipedia-ing led me to wonder what the hell Volvo could have stood for, because, y'know, I never gave a shit until now. Well, look what I found...

Anyway yeah, white cars, can't say I'm a fan. It's hard to do white right and I've just never liked it on a Saab. Darker colors look better on these cars, IMHO.

aero1116 I thought we were on the subject of white saabs

mg_td im gonna have to go with stromer off the top of my head, an acronym to me has always been a bunch of initials you can pronounce, but an abbreviated word..... ehhhh no. an abbreviation is as follows. continued -> cont. and Et cetera -> etc.

wikipedia's acronym
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acronym
agrees with stromer and me, wikipedia considers something like "ftw" an initialism, something where the intials of the phrase are pronounced like the individual letters
wikipedia also agrees with me about an abbr. or abbrev.

related edit:
AND while im at it with wikipedia, burns, its not a sac really.... keep it swedish man.

I dunno about that... look it up . CHECK THIS, either way it seems to be a fine line .

An acronym is a label formed from the beginnings of words (Greek: acro [head] and nym [word]) -- or very rarely, from letters in the middle of words. There is no requirement that an acronym be pronounceable as a normal word (this is a curious myth perpetuated by American dictionaries): IBM is just as much an acronym as LASER.
