|Marks9-3||Point he was making with the dyno charts, is that even if you could rev higher, there is no point. All power is dropping past 5500rpm and would only continue to drop as the rev's increased.|

|SS929k||every time I look at this dyno sheet it confuses me I don't know what the base line is and where the improvments are mainly because it's soo messy and and the numbers are low lol.|

Even with the higher flowing turbo intake manifold and header there is not much reason to rev it past 6. The head just doesn't flow. I even deleted the MAF by swapping to trionic.
With stock parts there is no reason at all past 6.

i have one of the highest revving "n/a" engine (if not the highest)
my rev limit is set at 7200rpms
i almost never see over 6500rpms just cuz our cars build torque at a lower range than those honduhs
plus our gears are pretty long
most high revving cars will shift twice before you shift once (at least ive experienced those kinds of runs against ppl) and yet you'll still be in your power band still pulling, oh and be ahead of them
so since it will cost a lung and your colon to get the engine to rev past 8k (but hey if you have that many lungs and colons sitting aside go for it)
just take my route
turbo your n/a and watch your car melt the tires
will deff be less expensive than a 8k-10k rev limit

You'd need to send the engine to Lenco or some other engine shop who could balance and blueprint the engine to very high tolerences. Since it's a 2.3 N/A engine, getting extra revs would help make more power, but you'd need substantial upgrades in the areas of the intake, higher compression, porting/polishing, lightest rotating mass, and efficient exhaust. The B-series of engines just wasn't designed to rev very high (relatively speaking).
I think the c900 rally cars with 2.0 8v N/A engines were built to go to 8000rpms or so, but that's with a full team to support the car. You'd be spending a ton of money for something that wouldn't be very streetable.

Unless you have a huge turbo or some ridiculous cams in that thing you won't need the higher rev limit, since the car will only lose power exponentially as you reach into the 8,9, and 10k range. My car has it's rev limit raised to 7k from the factory 6000 or 6200 (can't remember exactly) and I can honestly say it never sees anything much more than 5800ish because after that it just makes more sense to grab the next gear.

in need of higher revs
hi my 97 saab 900s has a non turbo 2.3 and it only revs to the mid 6000s
i really want it to rev between 8000 to 10000 rpm.
what can i do too my saab to rev this high
