Put some electrical tape where you want it to be and drive around for a week to see if you like the way it looks. If you like it then I'd say pay someone to paint it for you and if not you're down 5 minutes of your life and a roll of tape.
For how close you could get your bumper to look like an aero I'd say work with what you got, I wouldn't be too shocked if you could put the the aero grille and fog light covers onto your car without buying a brand new bumper. Or you could go all out and get some quality honeycomb mesh and get creative.

True but Snow Silver isn't too common, so it could potentially be a tough sell.

OK did some Photoshop work. Assuming a body shop could be pretty precise, I could probably pull this off. Otherwise I could order the SAAB lip and paint it black, then either paint or cut out the middle section. Opinions?
Photoshopped (this would be roughly how it would look with just painting the bumper itself):
Original with SAAB lip:
Photoshopped, more precise because lip is already on car in picture (how it would look with a painted add-on SAAB lip and black center bar or I suppose a cut out center bar too):
The Aero look I'm ultimately going for:
It doesn't look quite like the Aero bumper, but it's pretty close, I guess it would be unique too. I don't want to drop $$$ on something that won't turn out well, so let me know what you think. Thanks.

Anybody a fan of the bridge spoiler for the 08-09's? I like the lip spoilers more but they don't fit the new body style.

|Jameson||The Saab lip is a tossup between not noticeable enough and a tacked on look. I would not bother. The Hirsch ones looked tacked on as well, but the lines go with the body. The best bet with the Aero front, followed by Hirsch and a distant third the the Saab one. I would just mask off the section of your stock bumper and paint it correctly in black to mimic the Aero front if you are on a budget.|

|KPAero||I like the hirsch splitters, although they are pricey. The saab lip spoiler doesn't do much for me. It's a bit too understated, where as the Hirsch one ads just enough to be cool without being to much.|

Did some research and got some quotes for used/reconditioned Aero front bumper covers and the lowest I could find is $625 shipped (would need to also be painted). I should probably just be happy with what I have, I guess I was just trying to make it stand out from the pack (but then SAABs aren't a common car to begin with I suppose).
I feel like I'd be wasting my bumper cover too if I took it off and replaced it. No one likes the add-ons?

try finding a aero bumper that is off a car that was rear-ended.
you can probably get it a bit cheaper. might be hard since they are still so new though.
either way, i would hold out for the aero bumper.

|swedespeed7||So other than buying an Aero bumper, anyone else have an opinion?|

Yep, probably would be. Lists for like $640, unpainted.

|Castor Troy||i think you'd be happiest with the aero front bumper, even though it's the most expensive|

|stig||Get the Saab lip and paint it black. Remove the center bar from your bumper (or paint it black) = faux Aero bumper?|

Need opinions on 2009 body add-ons...
Trying to spice up the look of my 9-3 and I'm having trouble deciding between the Hirsch front splitter and the SAAB front lip spoiler. I have a 2009 2.0T w/o the Aero front bumper, unfortunately. Don't think that buying a new Aero bumper cover and having it painted is worth it (probably would be around $700, plus a pain in the ass to install). The SAAB front lip spoiler is just a little extra piece that goes on the middle part of the lower bumper cover, nothing too crazy but a nice add-on, and it's $200 (still ridiculous). The Hirsch splitter kit is pretty cool looking, but it's more expensive (Hirsch, duh) at around $400. Opinions?

Wish I had the Aero bumper cover...
