there needs to be a balance of all the components to prevent premature wear or negative effects to the handling characteristics. (excessive understeer/oversteer)
stiffer spring rate can also reduce bottoming out.

|christian900se||Hahaha, I think he secretly likes the car being that well put together. On the way to Carlisle, there were a few times where I realized I had fallen behind the group (thanks to you being a speed demon) and had to lay into it to catch up. It was a good excuse to get up to 100, maybe a bit more and he didn't complain. Thats about the fastest I think I will ever go with my dad in the car lol.|

yeah he claimed that he couldn't drive anywhere without bottoming out. i've never had a issue though.
maybe he still had those pesky midcar mudflaps on that tend to scrap over everything?

The rear springs in the koni kit are just fine. Look just like the H&R and most others.. (BG excluded, they are a little too low rate.) Their engineers know a little more than some forum specialist.. Anyway.
You need a certain length spring to get it to not fall out when at full droop. This is controlled by the dampers on the NG. But to get a car to ride height it takes a certain spring rate. But what if you cannot get to this height at a rate that will fit in the hole unloaded? You make the spring dual rate or add some "dead" coils, that is the only "work" to keep the thing in the hole unloaded. The rest of the time the other coils handle the main "work" Understand? The 9-3 SS uses this from the factory.

Hope to get some form of resolution regarding the spring rate issue. My car before it went back on new OEM springs (retained the Koni shocks).

The front doesn't drop nearly as much as the back.
