g96nt So, I'm a noob to t7, and as much as I want to learn, I hate ecuproject.com

Steve's mailbox is full, so I'm hoping he, as well as the rest of saablink can help me with this one!

This was a PM, but his box is full, so I'll make it a general question

hey, steve.
I have yet to get it to the Dyno, but am planning on doing soon.

I have a couple questions:

when watching the OBDII stuff, things look good, but I'd like a heads-up on what values I SHOULD watch, what I should expect to see (for Mreq, timing, etc etc)and what sort of timing I should expect to see(so I know if the ECU is pulling some)

When I re-fill, it does register the fill-up, but never says anything but 0L(gas)
even when I did put in 1/4 tank of e85. Is that expected? does something need to be checked on my part? (new O2?)

Also,(lastly) I'm picking up the 3.5bar FPR(absolute final mod on stock turbo) will that ruin things when we re-flash?

Thanks a ton, guys....

I think this is the problem I had with ecuproject.com
It's a lot of scattered information I just get frustrated reading.

Most of the time, I(and most others) are looking for quick info.
I tried searching for OBDII info, and got nothing.

This should help a ton, though...
I'll wade through it, and see what I can learn.
SIDI is what its typically referred to on ecuproject. That thread links to a wiki that used to be very clear and comprehensive about the sid info, but it seems that the info isnt there anymore ! Actually, looks like its still in the history, see if this link works for ya http://virtuaalitalo.fi/wiki/stcfwik...info&oldid=152

g96nt it will be.
I'm not entirely sure when I'll get to throw it on, though.

Steve, do you have a link to something that defines the OBDII readings(and what I *want* to see)?
I've figured out some, but I feel like I'm missing some info.
09-22-2009 04:05 PM
stevehayes01 Looks nice and quick..... interesting to see the dyno results on it.
09-22-2009 03:45 PM
g96nt I did a quick pull tonight, merging on the highway.
I just grabbed my phone, and hit "record". I had to let off, and get back into it around 40, and then I ran it out till I "ran out" of 3rd gear.

I should mention.. this *IS* uphill

09-20-2009 05:05 AM
g96nt I had already sent him a PM when you mentioned him.
Thank you, though.
09-20-2009 02:15 AM
rafal Craig, did you go to Steve after my recommendation or you would talk to him anyway?

Nice job, Steve.

g96nt it runs REALLY well.
I actually had a scare today where I hit rev-limit @ boost, and the car started misfiring REALLY bad. like... melted plug kind of bad.

I let off, and all was "fine", except it was spitting, and popping on decel.
so, I limped it home, and parked it. It was idling VERY poorly. it was searching for idle, and stunk like gas. So, I pulled off the DIC, and pulled the plugs.
all 4 were perfect. not a trace of detonation.
did a compression test.... perfect... 210x4
went for a ride, and got new NGKs, and tossed them in.
same crap.

so, I started thinking the worst... rings/valve.

so, I leaned in, and heard a hiss. I reached back, and my damn finger got sucked onto the TB. Turns out, the vacuum line that runs out to the passenger side strut housing has seperated where the rubber, and plastic meet.

I put a small hose clamp on, and re-set the ECU, and it's back to normal.
I took it for a quick rip, and it's 100%!

So.. after a day? I love it.
It runs REALLY smooth. boost comes up quick, holds on strong, and the car feels great.
I had asked steve to only limit boost in first, and he was kind-enough to oblige.
I have full boost in 2-5, and he even bumped the rev limit up a couple hundred(to 6800)
the car gets the same MPG, and he DID eliminate the rear 02 CEL I had, but I do have another CEL for a bad heater in the rear o2(I broke the sensor)

I asked Steve for an Aggressive tune for my hardware, which is mostly stock, aside from the 3" TBE, FMIC, and intake.
I take care if the car, and it's got a new head, valves, head gasket, and all.
it runs nothing but 93, and I keep up on it.

I'm assuming he did, and the wagon feels GREAT!

like I said; I'll toss 'er on the rollers, shortly, and I'll be sure to post-up results.
I'm super happy as it is, though.

I have to look up what all the crap in the t7 SID means, but I can tell a chunk of it, anyways.

stevehayes01 Glad it worked out..... looking forward to hearing your overall driving impressions after it adapts itself in.

Tboy So how does it run? Details on the software he put on, and the hardware you have?
