Yea, that is what I set up for Isea's 95 and its really cool with the open sid function, you can see it adapting to e85 when you switch from gas and you get two lamda's in there, one for gas and one for e85 and two adaptation points for short term/longterm fuel trims and a ton of other stuff that is not available on a regular gasoline t7 car. Its really cool stuff, the flex is really nice and when I get a t7 car, I will be getting one that has tcs so I can run the flex fuel sw myself

JZW Sure, I am just getting started and I think I will reserve some dyno time so I can see what is actually going on with power and torque.

I may opt to use a different dyno brand as you suggested so I can load the engine and turbo more and get a more realisitic road simulation. The dynojet does not seem to load the engine nearly enough to simulate real road conditions.

I still have to finish my fueling side before I can go too much higher and once that is done, it will be time to increase the boost and see what kind of timing I can run on the car.

Even at 15 degrees and 23psi, its a screamer and its definetely faster than it was with gas and my concervative 9 degrees and no w/m injection.

The idle is better too, smooth and consistant and it started right up cold this morning. I will have some work when winter comes I am sure, but so far so good,

GenuineSaab Yeah we have been playing with it since -05 when we had to work with our local fuel distributor to mix different blends to test with.

Finding MBT without a dyno it a little more impossible on E85, it is not like gasoline where you will be knock limited before MBT.

I was able to run 13 degrees timing with crappy 91 pump gas here in Colorado with w/m injection, but without it, I could not run as much.

I realize you have to run more timing just to get back to where you are with gasoline, but this was an increase in performance at 15* timing up top and I am just getting started

I will keep bringing the timing and boost up until I get to that level where its not doing any good to increase the timing.

For elevation, its a miricle fuel, its a very nice upgrade to get back some of the power lost from sea-level and with the cooler egts and coolant temps and no knock, its a great way to make good power and be green and in Colorado that is huge! There are tons of people that want e85 just because of the low emmissions and the side effects are great!

k1llsh0rty god i hate mass!!!! we have 2... count them 2 e85 stations here..... both are more than an hour from me.....
hmmmm maybe i should get a 50 gallon drum..... maybe a bit expensive! lol

Anyhow just a reference I run 14deg timing with 34psi with norml gas
Key more me is to have the engine working 110% with normal fuel and then E85 if needed, but use it as band-aid to cure/hide problems is a no-go.

JZW: Any plans to dyno a car to see gas vs. e85 power difference? Would be cool.

E-85 fuel is awesome!!!

I just wanted to say that for anyone that has been thinking about e85, its really something and last week I tuned a flex fuel 95 and that car just came alive and I was blown away at the power that is available with e85 and the car ran cooler and with no knock at all. I ran it on gas at first and it was ok, but when I put in the e85, the car just came alive and the torque was really nice, it was a real screamer.

Today I converted my car with Holset super 40 to e85 and boy is it screaming!!! With only 23psi, I was able to run 15 degrees of timing up top with 0 knock and the car was flat screaming! I am really liking the e85 and with Dallas's viggen and Isea's 95 and my ng900 and the soon to be Steve's biopower 9k, its really worth doing! The power increase is awesome, the cars run cooler and the chance of knock is reduced a good bit.

I put in 1000 cc flow matched injectors and it ran 9.8/1 on a test pull with gasoline and then with e85, it was just about 11.7/1 and by the time it adapted, it was right at 12.0/1 at 23psi. I plan to raise it on up to the 27psi range and or until it starts to spin in third gear. I should have enough fuel and I can't wait to get it all dialed in. I have second gear at base boost and with e85, it just spins a hair if I hit a bump or uneven road surface, its getting close, but still need a little more work.

If anyone is thinking of e85, its well worth the trouble to convert it over and that usually only requires fuel injectors and a tune or maybe a pump in some cases.
