Blaque | Oh yea, this group buy most definately will be taking place later than sooner...unless of course there a few people ready to order now. We can always have a second one later. |

I would definately be up for a group buy on SQR or Maptun, though I like the customability of SQR. If this happens, I am definitly in... |

I talked to a gentlemen from Group 9 and he was weary about some of my non SQR mods, Like my turbo wasn't the SQR T28 and my VIC may not cut it. As a Saab owner, I hate being told what other people think ![]() I hate to say it guys, but Id rather the group buy happens later than sooner. However if the tax return is right, maybe I can swing it. But I'm prolly not going to hook it up untill I can do some minor other mods to my car. |

abdukted1456 | From what I have read, Maptun guys used to be Saab Trionic Engineers, and so they know Trionic inside and out, and they don't mess with the functions that make Trionic run safely. They also make the power come on smoothly so that you don't destroy your transmission. BSR/Speedparts have been known for a quicker harsher onset of power (feels really fast, but your tranny will beg for mercy) and also they have had some problems with the cars running too lean. They mess around with parts of trionic that are there for safety's sake, not the best idea, IMHO. They also are plagued by horror stories of terrible and unacceptbale customer service. Finally, SQR seems to be right on, like Maptun. The big advantge here is that they seem to offer more customizeable packages to better take advantage of the random parts/upgrades you might have. Frank is known as the "high priest of boost". I think anyone looking for an ECU would be best served by checking out Maptun or SQR, because in the long run your engine and tranny will last longer! And I have never heard one complaint about these two tuners. |

Tweek's Turbos | I narrowed my ECU search down to SQR or Maptune. I wouldn't be up for anything else. |

Blaque | We may have a source for Speedparts ECUs, but im unsure who deals SQR. |

Got my t5 ECU Maptune stage 3 upgrade from Gr 9...a little over $650 because of the Swedish Kron rate at the time. My next upgrade will only cost $100.00 on the ECU, so I bought a second ECU for my stage 4/5. haven't decided on yet...., but potentially sell my current stage 3 for the right price. |

Yea there was because it will definately keep shipping down, and we may be able to pull the price down on them as well. I believe we could get T5($50 savings) or T7($350 savings) ECUs for about $650, and if we order 3 or more the shipping will of course be less. Those are the numbers I remember. If we get an interest list going, I'll confirm those prices with him. Of course these are Group Buy prices only. |

Ced, was there a plan to do a group buy on ECUs? ![]() |
03-10-2004 06:45 AM | |
SaabTuner | www.group9performance.com sells MapTun products here .. so I assume their shipping is cheaper, which translates into less cost passed on to us ... however I also think they make some small profit off each ECU so you'll pay for that in some way or another. Though it might be that MapTun split the profits with them. At any rate, you won't pay $100 more for shipping from them. |

ecu i agree maptun makes great products but if i order maptun its $699 then i guess i have to pay the shiping from sweeden which is like $100 so it would cost $800 SQR $595 $15 shpping and i heard sqr has great software also Speedparts $571 shipping proably $15 dont no much about theres Does anyone have any of the three if soo let me know what you think Nick |
03-09-2004 09:12 PM | |
