|oliversexpedition||Just ordered an EMPI for the SPG, we'll see how it goes. Worse case is that I'll have a rebuildible spare for the fleet.|

Although it is a c900, Little Red has had Empis on her for more than a year now with no complaints. The drive axles were making funny noises at Carlisle and it seemed easier to do the swap in a driveway than on the side of a gravel road in Canada.
Then again, OEM axles for the c900s are NLA. We'll see how long these go.

Castor if your going to be replacing the boots you'll have to take the axles all apart anyways and it would only be a few more steps to rebuild them properly.
Rebuild your current axles with new boots and all.

I used a Chinese axle (might have been the same brand, can't recall) in my BMW to replace a SLIGHTLY worn OEM unit. It ended very poorly 6 months later with all 3 bearings on the inner tripod coming loose inside the joint. Sheer and udder piece of shit.
Will not use again, not even for 1/10 the price of a new OEM.

The ones they sell now are new units and are not serviceable (no circlip to remove tripod bearing). I use them on clients cars and have them in my 9k Aero. Never an issue.

|mcrowley||I had them in my 94 900s....complete crap. It took three different ones from eeuro before I even got a good one. These were the supposedly 'brand new' ones as well...|

|DeLorean||I'd say "If it ain't broke don't fuck with it" though new boots are probably not a bad idea if you see some degradation. If you don't, there really is no need to even do that. they might last 10 years more.|

in truth, the axles i have are fine, and the boots look fine. but i'm going to be ripping it all apart to replace the control arms, tie rods, and sway bar end links, and since I'm there I want to replace all the boots, etc. I looked at the prices for boots, etc, and since it was only a couple bucks more for these axles as opposed to doing the boots, i was curious as to their quality.
I'll probably just do the boots and call it good.

|DeLorean||they seem to work fine in a car like a 900-S, Ericas have had no problems in what, 20K miles? The "rebuilt" ones they previously sold are not fit for a lawnmower. I blew one of those up in LESS than 5000 miles. totally disabled, and to have the car towed. Your best bet is to rebuild the ones you have if they are not in that bad of condition, if they are, get a better set from the junk yard and re-boot those. That's the only way to get OEM quality without dropping the $580 per side on actual OEM new ones.|

I've herd bad things.
Mike Crowley had some bad experiences with them.
Then again that was when they were rebuilds. For some reason I think they are new now, I dont know why though so, i dunno.

Empi axle assemblies
Anybody have any experience with the Empi axle assemblies that eEuro sells?
