9000Andrew Wow, that is an incredibly hard hit! I'm glad your dad is ok!

christian900se Thats incredible... Its good to know that your dad is alright after that. Rear-enders are one of the worst collisions possible, just behind side impacts.

Sounds like he came out pretty well! I believe you mentioned that this was a while ago, so hopefully he is sure that there is no back/neck pain. I know a few people who were rear ended less dramatically yet still ended up with some drawn out back pains for quite a while.

Either way, I guess as long as he is feeling good and he came out fine with the car then it seems like things worked out just fine. Still stressful I'm sure, but not as bad as if he was low-balled on the value and had back pains to boot.

stromer Wow. Looks like it was actually a low vehicle that hit him, or a vehicle that was very severely braking.
03-31-2009 10:02 AM
aeroboost I guess it was an old 80's Cadillac going like 65mph, it hit him while he slowed down for the car in front of him. rear doors did not open.
03-31-2009 09:59 AM
JK Fuck me sideways! That is a hell of a hit, good to hear the SAHRS helped him out. Good bit of technology there I believe, but I'd rather not try it.

I've seen a few rear-enders of 9-5s, and they all seem to end up looknig like that. What type of car hit? How fast was it going?

I'd say it looks like the car did its job and collapsed down and away from the passenger compartment. Did the rear doors open at all? I would doubt it, but it doesn't appear that took on any/much of the deformation.

dan-the-kid Damn, that sucks. Good thing hes alright.

*rear wheels cost more anyways.

I'm starting to get into the T7 area of tuning soon, so just wait if you can.

This is what happens *Pics

My dad just bought this 2003 9-5 Aero less than a year ago, someone hit him while merging onto the highway. Here are some pics, He was fine after, he claims that the seats saved his neck. Bike was fine, but the front wheel was in the trunk and was destroyed.

Insurance totaled the car, but he just bought a new one with only 40k miles on it. He is wanting to tune it, so if anyone has information on 9-5 tunes please let me know.
