|mlemorie||MBT/KLSA ? Forgive me Im still learning lol. What head did you put on there?|

Head is not standard either.
Since I am converting it to trionic and can actually tune for MBT/ KLSA on the dyno I thought the guys at ecuproject would be interested but I guess they have something to hide since they will not reply to joining.

|Adrenaline406||alcohol? haha, this is interesting, i've always had boosted saabs, n/a performance is kinda weird...|

|mlemorie||Ah, so you were just changing gasket thicknesses then? I will keep watching this thread now that you mentioned alternative fuel lol. What C/R are you looking for? I want to know how well the fuel system holds up to the E85. I assume thats what you are prepping it for since you run it in your Viggen and your SS.|

Raising compression in anticipation of an alternative fuel. The only problem was switching gaskets being a rather coarse adjustment.. Measured ok but did not factor in enough piston growth.
I got lucky on this one too.

|mlemorie||How were you trying to increase the quench area? Did you just mill the head down?|

Na is boring, do a high compression low pressure turbo set-up If you had high compression forged pistons and a low pressure turbo set-up, you might get some nice gains and make some nice power and maybe keep the torque up and lower in the rpm with higher compression.

So in trying to tighten up the quench and raise the compression at the same time.. ran into a little issue. It had some "lifter noise" and I did find a couple bad lifters.. After all the head was leftover from a sludge engine. Well I tore it apart today and it looks like in operation the clearance is a bit negative. It is back together with the sump and all oil passages cleaned, they were ok but can't hurt right? Now using the standard B2x4 thicker gasket used are about ~1.1mm vs the ~.5mm of the newer style. Looks like I will need to spec out a set of custom domed JEs with a little more valve clearance to be able raise the compression. Oh and before anbody says something about the obviously poor mixture the car is on the v6 maf with t5 injectors Not a good thing as it goes pig rich on tip in but the t5 harness should be here this week!
That is the piston machining parks pressed into the head.
Notice how there is no carbon buildup where there should be.
Expensive workbench.. Since my toolbox is the dyno room I usually end up down there.
