It's not impossible, just a little more frustrating at times. If you move the passenger seat all the way back, you can fit the center console/climate control mess over onto the passenger side floor. Having the manual setup adds probably half an hour to the whole operation if you know what you're doing. If it's your first time, I would suggest allowing for an extra hour on top of whatever the instructions say (the instructions are written assuming you have the digital). Good luck! |

The only substantial problem is if you have the manual climate control.. With the digital one, you just pop it out and unplug it. I had the manual version in my 900, and the install was a huge bitch beacuse none of the cables/springs/"why did they design it like this"'s wanted to come off (and frankly, I didn't want them to) I wound up having to kind of rotate the center console around these things and work in a cramped area. That said, if you have the digital setup, it's pretty breezy ![]() |

im just kidna freaked out about the installation part cuz u gotta tka eALLLL that stuff apart and what if i cant get it back together??? i always screw up like that and by the way, does this only shorten the shifter itself, or does it also shorten the distance u have to move the knob between lik first and 2nd gear or 2nd and 3rd etc... know what i mean? cuz if it shortens the distance to switch gears then id be able to shift faster which means i can then go faster... bleh i just dont know much about it i guess |

short shifter hey, i am thinking about gettin the short shifter from mpperformance.com heres the link, its near the bottom of the page http://www.mpperformance.com/ng900.asp just a few questions about it tho: 1) is it hard to install 2) how does it work with the shifter knob, like with that piece u have to pull up to get it in reverse, and al those other stock things... 3) if there are any difficult things about the installation, please let me know any info is appreciated thanks, dan |
