AeroDynamic on our car club forums it was called "Member work log".

Palmer SC did that for the C900 board. It's called the "project section" and is super.

I have brought this up before but it seems to always be ignored. Its nice to have a build thread where you can post updates and have your entire build kept in one thread and no one else is allowed to post in that thread. It makes everything simple and if you have something to discuss then you simply make a new thread.

Maybe someone will pay attention this time!

Member Journal Forum?

Pretty common in most car forums. People start a build thread, as the car progresses its documented with pictures and text. The thread could be either locked so only the author can post, or it could be open to all.

I don't see a reason not to have it. It will most likely get rid of some clutter, and make it easier for people to see whats going on with other peoples cars.
