I test drove an automatic 2.0t with the tiptronic system, tiptronic has a fair amount of lag, and as much as my left ankle swells up on me, well, maybe its not getting enough clutch-time, so I'm trying to get a 6 speed
Thank you everyone for your help

|JLausch||I can't speak for the reliability of the 9-3 5spd auto, but as far as driving, i can't think of anything to complain about dynamically smooth shifts, good gearing, although i still prefer manual and the delay when using the paddles/gear lever in manual isn't the greatest, but most cars aren't.|

There have been reported flaring problems in the 2003 car with the auto trans, but the consensus seems to be that this is a good transmission, and is probably as reliable as the 5 or 6 speed.
I will knock on a bit of wood, but it seems to be the days of terrible automatic transmisisons in saabs seems to be gone.
I test drove a 2005 Aero 5sp Auto when I was working at the car dealer, they are plenty good.

5 speed auto?
So I've been really considering a 9-3SS (dont flame me, I know what I'm getting into, and am confident in myself) so I'm going to go test drive one tomorrow. Does anyone have any experience with the 5 speed automatic with senstronic? I could get a 6 speed (though I cant find any in the immediate area), but automatic is nice sometimes (especially driving in NYC and letting friends drive when youre unable to ) and I've noticed my left ankle has been swelling lately, plus if I want to drive stick I'll still have my 86 9000t still. I know several people on here have automatics (blix, abdukted (well not anymore), redaerogirl) and I'm yet to hear a major complaint
Any thoughts or experiences on the autobox?
