Tweek's Turbos | Since I last posted in this thread, I looked up the past threads for a specific member I knew posted in that thread. After 6 pages of scrolling I was able to find the thread. See the time stamps between my first post, the bump I made in the thread, and this post. |

I addressed this in a pm, but will address it here too. If you are having trouble finding something, it might not exist. I suggest laying out an eplanation of the problem. where you found the answers, and any tips you can add. Make obvious use of keywords too. Some other tricks involve remembering around when the thread was last updated, and who posted in the thread most often. For instance if I want a tech thread, I may search ERP or DIP and see what posts they have made. |

Also try not to search Titles only. Like 'Dukted mentioned, usually the titles aren't informative. Search the content itself. I just searched for "photochop" and got about 8-10 results. Searched "photoshop" and got 3 pages. |

Blaque | JFYI.. Off Topic threads aren't searchable. They are also pruned after a specific amount of time. This can be changed, however I don't want bullshit OT threads cluttering the search. |

part of the problem is people don't title things in a way that makes them easy to find. a thread titled" HURRY HELP ME NOW" does not indcate the contents is how to install a brake sensor. also advanced search helps to narrow things down. also helps to search with different words and spelling since people can't spell either. for brakes. you might try "brakes" "breaks" "brake install "brake upgrade" etc etc "help with brakes" etc with advanced search you can narrow it down to only search 9-3 forums for example. again, this is only gonna work if you all post in the correct forum to begin with |

ohlins8990 | I've just stopped using search altogether. The last time I used it I was trying to find Jamesons VW sketches and it was completely useless. |

I've run into this before but not as badly as you have. Whenever I'm searching for my oil pressure write up to post the link when somebody asks I end up searching a total of five different phrases before I come across it. |

search problems Does anyone else have trouble with our search? I find that it's worthless 90% of the time, a lot of times when i search for thread titles, nothing comes up. FOr example, when searching for the tsl member photochops thread, searching photochops only results this: https://www.saablink.net/forum/search...earchid=426738 Can anything be done to make search better? It seems that the search is too narrow now, and therefore not very helpful. |
