Parts are continuing to stack up for this thing, got a transmission from Troup, a clutch from my brother, I just need to find a slave cylinder or appropriate rebuild kit for mine and I'll do all that stuff at once.
This part I'm paging all the old school 9000 guys:
Again through Troup's enabling, I have a JT 3in down pipe coming as well. Is that going to bolt up to my stock turbo and clear everything OK?

Final update for now, the wheels. I put new tires on them when I first bought the car but knew they would need to be refinished eventually.
I got them dismounted early this year and dropped them off at a body shop. The guy I had do them had actually never polished wheels like these needed to be done before (didn't know that till after the fact) so it took him a while to get the technique down, I just got them back on Sunday and mounted back up to the car yesterday.

Overall I'm very happy with how they turned out. No filler was used so there's some imperfections in the lips where the curbing was especially bad. But they were polished up really nicely, and the faces were painted and then the whole wheel was clear coated. The only thing I wish was different would be having the barrels painted at the same time, but it's not really necessary.

I don't have any pictures of this but I also replaced the water pump. It was leaking. Got a new one from eSaabparts, came with the gasket and o rings for the job, good quality pump w brass impeller.
In getting to the pump I figured out that someone had done the job before, and every single bolt holding the AC bracket and water pump to the car was either in the wrong spot, or just never belonged in the first place. One of the bracket bolts had an extra nut on it because it was about 3/4" too long.
I also replaced a stripped hose clamp on the PS pump while I was looking for leaks.

Speakers got replaced at some point also, just bought correct size aftermarket replacements. Not really sure how they sound yet, I tested them but I haven't actually driven the car with them installed yet.
The originals had definitely run their course.

I also finally got around to swapping in leather door inserts to replace the loose and faded cloth. I had a set I saved from a 95 Aero my brother junked.
To get the old inserts off I broke off all of the plastic pins on them that stick into the door panel. Once I did that, there was enough of the pins left on the leather inserts that I was able to stick them through and attach to the door using hot glue.
The thing to note if you want to try this is that there are fewer pin holes in older door panels than the newer Aero panels (the fasteners were better so they didn't need as many is my guess).

It was a relatively productive winter for the 9000, now that it's about ready to come out of the garage I'll catch the thread up a bit.
First project for the winter was the power seat. The passenger side never worked since I got the car, I finally tracked it down to the fact that the memory seat computer was dead. Luckily I was able to get a replacement used computer from epartsland (I think they used to be regular posters on this site). The hard part was actually getting the seat unbolted to access it. Fun fact about 9000 seat memory modules, there are multiple different part numbers and they do NOT interchange. I had one from an Aero seat laying around the shop and it did me no good.

I told myself I was going to get it running and sell it, but after I started putting miles on it I ruled that out pretty quick. Now, if you wanted my Viggen, that would be another story lol.

Took the car to Motor Vice Midwest in Columbus over the weekend. It was a little over 300 miles round trip, by far the longest ride it's been on. The car ran pretty good, but I need to check the plugs/try a different DI in it, felt like it was missing a bit at points.
The good news is that I had the AC system vac'd down and recharged before I left, and it worked flawlessly. I can't believe my 91 9000 is the only Saab I have with full functioning A/C.

Window tint is done. The hatch window has more curve to it than it looks, it took 3 tries to get the film down.

I think you may be able to buy them still. Saab bits in the UK makes some pretty solid looking replacements.

For me it was a cost / benefit thing. When I looked into it, I decided it was too pricey and improvised. The shipping from the UK kind of kills it.

This car is looking great! Having never owned a 9k, I don't follow exactly what you guys are describing with the headlight adjusters, but I was just thinking, if you ca get your hands on some NOS bushings, perhaps that would be a good candidate for 3D modeling and 3D printing?
