Your engine choices are limited, but 2nd hand suply should be plentiful if you're in europe. Both the b205 and b235 are 2000-02 9-3 or 1997-2009 9-5 |

Easiest path is find another B205E and put it in. If you have access to a Tech-II or someone who can tune your car, B235E, TD04-15 and intercooler system, and ECU upgrade might be possible, depends on how much work you want to do. Quote:

Those two engines are not interchangeable. Check your years again friend. There were no 9-5's in 1995, started making them in 1999. You can use an engine from a 9-3, but only up to 2002 (or 2003 convertible). Those interchange with the 9-5 but as a 2.0 liter instead of the 9-5's 2.3 liter. If you get a good deal on a 2.0 liter motor go for it. It will drive nearly the same at stock power levels. |

Jameson | Its not worth the effort. 9-5 B235 engines are so common. The 9-3 B207 has less displacement to work with and gives you more challenges than dropping in another B235. So getting less with more work makes little sense to me. | |

Engine swap ? hello i have been offered saab 9-5 1995 low pressure turbo, but the engine is bad, and i have found an engine from a saab 9-3 2005, can i put that engine in or is that just to much work ? |
