To 3rd it, there's no fault in the t7 bottom end. It's strong.
the weak-link is the lightweight pistons.
swap 'em out, and do a standard refresh with bearings, seals, oil pickup screen, and be done.

|mike d||there is no need to move away from t7 connecting rods, they are good to over 600whp, You just need stronger pistons|

|Saabeh||All about your goals, just a set of pistons for a T7 motor is pretty much all you need unless you're looking for holset power. What is your power goal?|

|Saab95Aero||Cheapest bang for the buck is a b204 with a t7 head and needs no machining with identical CR as a regular b204, the b234 with t7 head like you said needs a 1.1mm piston milling for keep a healthy CR so it ends up costing more, a fully forged b235 is great but rods and pistons will add up to like 1500 alone.|

so do i fit wossies or a b234 bottom end?
Well guys as the topic states which do i go, eventually i want to fit a td04-20t and go for more power, i have a 9-5 t7 so i know my internals are at their limit at around anymore than 300bhp.
B234 bottom end, i could buy either a full engine or bottom - skim the pistons and use a t7 head or use a t5 head without skimming pistons - this would give me a chance while the bottom end is out to have acl bearings fitted and tart the outside of the engine up with a proper clean and paint etc.
B204 bottom end ,same as above really just using the 2 litre gear instead.
Wossner forged pistons and PEC conrods, use my b235 and strip that down and have the wossies fitted with upgraded rods at the same time replace the bearings for ACL bearings.
Which route should i take guys, which is most cost effective and which will end up being the best route?
