Just setting the ECU to not throw the CEL doesn't make the problem go away or happen. Whatever was wrong is still wrong. When I searched your P-code and saab together, it brought up a few threads of people throwing that code eventually needing an ECU. I don't know what the tank vents on an SS looke like, but if you're filling the tank and it's somehow preventing air from replacing the gas that's being used, your car will stall. actually... that's stupid. have you had your gas cap tested? |

ECU flashed So I got the ecu reprogrammed and the shop decided to bypass the P0601 CODE. My car still dies a couple of times after fueling up. I don't need to disconnect the battery any more when it does which is nice but ultimately the problem has not been fixed. This is an interesting link to a forum that has touched base on this topic engine - Car dying at low RPM only after filling up with gas - Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Stack Exchange I will bring it to the mechanics again and they will change the purge valve, I will update ASAP for you guys! |

I don't think it's coincidence that the car is throwing the P0601 and is dying. I did a quick search, and it's a semi-common failure. Google "Saab p0601", and a few threads showing that a p0601 ultimately lead to a new ECU I would talk to one of the tuners on here of FB about flashing an ECU to your car. (I think that can be done with T8 cars.) |

2007 93 Dies after fuel up If anyone could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. So i just bought this car a month ago and every time i fuel up it likes to die on me. What happens is the RPM is spontaneously drops below 500 which causes the car to die. I sometimes there is a check engine light that reads a code P0601. The engine wont start unless i reset the ECU (sometimes in the middle of an intersection) which clears the code If anyone could help that would be great! |
