Amidst the cyberweeds it is indeed nice to find people who still care and contribute! Thanks to you, Drew, and the other ECUPROJECT people for your incredible gift. Least we can do is pay it forward and keep the movement alive!

Cm452 Okay, so, here are the steps I did, but the convenience is that someone else has explained them, thus saving me considerable time.
Step .5: Get the BETA version of 64BIT O.S T5 suite from:
http://forum.ecuproject.com/showthre...ed=1#post83077

Step 1: CANUSB Download | CAN Tools
FIRST download the FTDI USB DRIVERS. This is VERY IMPORTANT. Download them to your desktop and then unzip to a folder on your desktop.

Step2: CANUSB Download | CAN Tools
DOWNLOAD the CANUSB DLL for WINDOWS 7/64BIT. Once downloaded, click install.

Step 3: Force installation of unsigned drivers in Windows 8... - RevRYL
Now, you need to tell windows to accept an unsigned driver. The above link explains why and guides you through the process. Go ahead and reboot your machine.
Once it reboots, select "advanced options"--> "allow unsigned drivers".
Complete the bootup.

Step 4: GET THE CAN USB FROM CAR/DRAWER/UNDER-MATTRESS/NARNIA and PLUG IT INTO COMPUTER USB--can't go on unless you do this!

Step 5: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly - Windows Help
Go to the CANUSB in the device manager and RIGHT CLICK-->UPDATE DRIVER-->browse, then select the FTDI drivers that you put on your desktop.

Done!

Cm452 Okay, I figured it out. If anyone wants to run T5 on windows 8 64bit OS and wants to live tune with a Lawicel CANUSB then I can tell you how to do it. Pm me or post below. It's kinda involved, so I'm not going to do a writeup for something no one cares about.

Lawicel CAN/USB Windows 8 drivers

Yeah, I've been on lawicel's website, which is down more often than it is up, and through the translated english, it appears that drivers exist for the dongle, but that they need an adjunct of a FTDI or some such other driver packet, which is not a driver but a buss speed apportioner (????). Obviously I have no idea WTF is up and was wondering if anyone had gotten it to work and if they could point me in the right direction. Again, this is for a Windows 8 machine, and I don't care to run VM ware for W7 or XP, either, as getting the VM to cooperate with the USB ports is a pain.
Thanks,
Cm
