The boost gauge is actually an analog readout of the MAF output.
I'd check and be sure that your maf is plugged-in, and then if your intercooler hoses are all connected, tight, and leak-free.

I have 2003 Saab 9-5. I installed a new turbo because I blew the seal in the old one. I started the car up and let it idle for 15 min with no problems. When I put it in gear and stepped on the throttle the turbo gauge went to red and stalled, then I restarted it and without stepping on the throttle the turbo gauge went to red and it stalled.then I waited and started it again and it idled fine until I stepped on the throttle and it did it again. Can somebody help me?
