If you don't need the car for a few days, and easy way to do it is to leave the car parked with the clutch pedal halfway or mostly engauged. I used an adjustable microphone stand. |

soft clutch pedal after engine/trans replacement So I just replaced my engine/transmission and when I took each engine out of each car I put them into 4th gear and reinstalled with the shifter in forth gear. It seems to cycle through all the gears normally and the clutch pedal returns quickly but lacks any resistance at all on the way down... I will say I did accidentally push the pedal to the floor when the hydraulic line was disconnected and I have not started the engine yet as I'm waiting for a check so I can get a jug of oil. Will pressure return once the engine is started? |
