SAABseanSCANIA Couple hundred bucks later and she's coming right along........ REALLY need jackpoint covers though......

SAABseanSCANIA Thursday ended with me deciding on taking the Vig on a trip to Sunapee for 2 days (and running into bergie along the way on 93.....hahaha), then onto Winnipesaukee, and back yesterday. Happy to report, not a single issue (600+ miles since purchase); great to be back in the 30mpg club.

Tonight she gets Rotella and some new plugs; new rotors and ceramics will be here the end of the week (along with new speakers and an FMMOD02....can't stand it anymore!), and wheel refinishing and some wetsanding on the body will hopefully be in-process as the truck/bike need some exercise this week too... somewhere in there my Jeep needs a brake line too...... must be "fleet maintenance" week; wish this thing came with some more FREE TIME

93viggen You paid only $2,000 USD for this?! I have never even seen a red 3 door before in person. Such a rare find! I am jealous! My black 5 door I thought I got a good price on, but nowhere near this! Lucky, and great purchase . Also, that Aero shouldn't be able to blow it away, if anything just barely pull away...

meh, little things here and there. Mostly getting cosmetics sorted the best I can. For now, just driving it (recently partnered my company with a friend's and my "side" business has me driving WAY too much for the truck, so this is perfect).

I'm sure I'll do the wheels like my silver 5D, and start doing the typical viggen corrections as I go. Probably won't be lowering this one as I DO plan on winter driving it (unless theres a ton of snow then the truck and jeep can play). I am trying to coerce a buddy to give me a 3" DP that came on a car he bought though; then fab my own 3" back - the quietest I can get it unfortunately (can't be pulling up to yachts to survey making a ruckus). I'll probably do T5 cams like the silver one too. But for the most part, keep it dependable and efficient; it's not my toy like the other one, I've got other things for that purpose.

Already VERY happy with it though.......even though I'm a 9-5 guy...hahaha. We'll see if this remains practical for me (all I carry is a filebox and backpack lol); hope no one goes offering me a 9-5 Aero wagon trade in the near future because I'm liking it too much!

SAABseanSCANIA Well, I didn't know I could only upload 4 pictures into an album.....

Didn't get any time to clean it up much, just a wash after work. Lots of work to go, and I desperately need to do something about the wheels; they're horrible and the coating will peel off in sheets (actually a good thing for me before paint). Hope my buddy comes through with the double 3 spokes he said he has a lead on... Now that I see it in the light, its got some dings and the paint need attention bigtime, but I can't complain for the price I paid (with a set of snows on tri-spokes don't forget!).

here goes...

All in all great deal. Looks pretty good and runs great: good baseline for a a fun commuter.....finally.

SAABseanSCANIA I know! Gotta work too much today then go do a headlight restoration and an oil change on the Aero (and hopefully some Rotella in the vig as well)..... but then it's time for some cleaning, photographing, and laughing hysterically at my winnings!

Finally got a new "commuter"

After getting rid of the mint 5D Viggen I had on here at the beginning of the year I swore I wouldn't own another (more of a 9-5 guy).... until yesterday. Just couldn't pass up; guy said it sold in 4 hours, glad I was the winner.

Can't wait to get some pics up, but here goes:

2001 Laser Red Viggen Coupe
119K miles
Bone stock
+full set of snows on some 16" Tri-Spokes
.....all to the tune of 2K. Helluva deal.

Interior is dirty but the only negative is a broken cupholder; driver's seat is near perfect.

Exterior is a little rough at the moment from living it's life in Boston, but front bumper, skirts, and rear bumpers have no cracks, punctures, etc. Rear bumper has the worst scratches, and the front has 1 I believe. Typical bubbles where they all get them in front of the rears, and a small amount of chipped paint/surface rust on the drivers front wheelwell; not bad. The only big negative is I'm missing a passenger side fog.

Stock Viggen wheels are, well, Viggen wheels that lived in new england...... AKA they need a full refinish because they're hideous (although I redid the ones on the mint one as well because the wheels suck).

Been sitting for a while and hasn't seen a highway in years until last night. Drove perfect, boosts perfect, no ticks/rattles/smells; engine is smoooooooth. Well actually, the only smell was brakes from me punishing the rotors to attempt to let the steel shine through.... stops great now. The fiance and I blasted out of Boston without an issue (although she's happy that the Aero can still blow it away....for now).

All in all, I've got some cleaning/buffing/work to do, but I believe I got the deal of the day
