yeah i think im just gonna say screw it and run a power rack if i dont allready have a decent one in one of the parts cars. especially since the old notchback has an almost brand new power rack in it.

|saabsbreakdown||My dad thinks the parts are no longer available. Scanwest would know for sure though, as I'm sure they did more rebuilds than anyone for awhile, seeing as there arn't any 99's on the east coast. The rack in my dads '76 99 was rebuilt by them.|

do you know of anywhere to get rebuild kits for the manual racks? im considering just bolting in a power 900 rack rather than messing around with the messed up manual racks i have.

I drove it to Seattle and back last night. It did great. The fuel pump works fine but is seriously making weird noises. The steering wheel squeeks alot and the steering rack is way worn.
After getting over the initial shock of having a n/a car again, the thing is really zippy. I love winding it out to almost 80 in 3rd gear

It sounds like there is a washing machine in the trunk of this thing. I've never heard noises like that from a fuel pump, lol.
It is really rust free except for surface rust in a few areas because the paint has chipped. Its so annoying. I'm trying to get some left over paint from the shop who painted it a few years ago.
I'm probably just going to drive it with the B-motor in it for atleast a year. It drives really nice but the steering rack is very worn.

Hey Quinn...I had a spring green Sonnet in my garage until about 2 hours ago I went out to snap a photo and the battery on the camera died
I must say, the color looks bitchin on a Sonnet!

I have never seen a spring green 99 in person.... one of my new favorite colors! I love it.
I am still pissed at your rust free Saab's.... even my 1995 9000 is riddled with rust and holes on the body lol .... while your 99 with exposed metal on the front fender hasnt even created surface rust lol. You are truly lucky.
Anyways, congrats on the purchase! Can't wait to see her all cleaned up! She's already beautiful.

Here is dads car
These cars are the only two spring green ones we have ever seen. And we own both of them! This color was only for '76 and he also has the dual defog on the rear window, although mine has vents on the C pillar behind the headliner panels and he has them aiming up from behind the rear seat.
Also I believe both '75 and '76 had the larger CIS metering plates.
