yea, in a SW forum I'm on, the OT posts dont count as real posts, but at the same time-I wouldnt say someone with a million posts is more reputable then somone with 200 posts, so that doesnt really matter anyway.
but yea, i think that most people that are on here are kinda "done" in a way, like they have all taken care of the major mods-i know i have.....so then i like to just indulge myself in intelectual convos other then saab stuff
but im all for more technical info! and growth, in fact, one of my dads freinds (like a 45 year old guy) said he would jion up cause i mentioned saablink to him

|Blaque||Also JFYI.. the off topic threads are automatically pruned after 3 months.|

As indicated by many of the posts, the main issue regarding this thread is the deletion of posts, which I make sure all the admins know how to correctly delete and leave a reason for deletion.
Regarding the site having more useful information is something i think we should all strive for. I'll will be looking into the post count issue and for the OT threads.

I was a mod on my other forum for awhile. There was a kid(who was actually older than me, mid 20's, now almost 30) who sort of hated mods and being sensored. He would just take things too far and curse when the board had a big rule of no cursing.
I almost never had to close or delete or anything like that. He made a reply in a post and dropped quite a few 4 letter words including the C bomb. I called him out on his behavior and he didnt like it. He wound up harassing me on AIM, PM, and creating fake accounts to get at me and having all his freinds do the same thing....it was constant for weeks. He went all anti-semetic on my ass even though I am not a practicing Jew( I celebrate X-mas if that puts things in perspective). This went on for YEARS! The FBI had to be contacted and everything, thats how bad(it was insisted I do so by forum admins).
At a certain point moderating meant I had to take on everyones gripes and crap, be harassed away from the board and had to keep my mouth shut when I wanted to say how I felt when I was attacked on the board. I stepped down, it just wasnt worth it.
So this IS on topic.....point is I have been in the mod spot and know the frustrations first hand. It isnt exactly a high paying job lol.

thank you Tweek.
I try to be fair and nothing is ever personal, it is just the internet. but it is harder than some of you think when no matter what you do someone is not happy with it.
you can't please everyone all the time.

|Tweek's Turbos||If it hasn't been mentioned b4. Being a Mod is a very difficult position. We risk loosing friends over trival stuff.|

Just my $0.02, I take things here with a grain of salt and dont find anything offensive or take anything too seriously, I understand if someone posts something that may cross a line, they may not realize it or not intend to do so. Its hard to define this "line", as we all have our own lines, my line has gotten bigger over the years and I'm yet to find something offensive to me. This is the internet, you should expect to find crap like this, and I think the type of people who post on here, its meant in good fun.
There is still a bit of technical info out there, I really dont have any problems with my car so I really down browse all that often, that goes for SC also, however I'm always on the BMW boards technical forums for the E28s trying to fix that car.
I havent met alot of people on here, but no matter the location I dont hold anything against anyone. People live in different areas for different reasons, some have no choice. As gay as it sounds, the only thoughts about them is it saddens me that my chances of meeting them are more slim than people in the NE.
Life is short and we only live once, and I dont think this is how we should spend our time!

|1sweet2.0||i don't think it's about talking about your car issue's|

|aero1116||I get ignored at SC but when Chris9-5 or some other mod or popular member starts a thread there, it becomes the ultimate dick suck. Over here I usually get an answer in a short period of time. There's not too much for me to contribute in the 9-5 section since there are so few here who actually have problems with their 9-5.|

|1sweet2.0||now I don't want anyone to get mad, just form past experiences on this forum and what I see.. even though don't post that much.. this is my observation of things. Whether it's true or not..I dunno.|

|1sweet2.0||doesn't seem tight nit ubless you're talking about 15 people that seem to be.. it personally seems like a lot of "LOOK AT ME" threads. Many of you strive for attention which is why I think a lot of the BS starts.|

Saab owners are a fairly unique group of people. By spending so much time on the forum we kind of "bond" with each other. BSing is a healthy thing for friends to do, and I'm sure there are plenty of people here who will say that aside from a few disagreements we're essentially a tight knit group of 1500 friends.
