My best 1/4 time was 14.3 but have had trap speeds of over 103mph.
When I get my lsd I will try to get sqr to remove my torque limits in 1st and 2nd.
There's no doubt that my car is a low to mid 13s car if I get traction and full boost in 1st and 2nd. My car also gets serious boost cutbacks when going from a dig for whatever reason. If I go from a roll about 50mph and gun it in 3rd it pulls like a mofo all the way to the redline.
I'm not much of a 1/4 mi guy, I like road tracks, much more indicative of the overall performance of a car, not just how good it goes from a dig.

Does anyone have the OBD Scan Tool and is using it now? Where could I get one for the cheapest price? I just looked at AutoEnginuity's site, but those things are 229 or so for the scanner tool...However over at www.scantool.net they have the package for $79.95 without steel enclosure and $99.95 with steel enclosure...any thoughts?
And what protocol is for Saab: OBD-II Protocol: ISO 9141-2 and ISO 14230-4 (KWP2000) ?
Even cheaper at http://www.digimoto.com $89 with steel enclosure...$79 on ebay ending soon...

Oh, and AutoEnginuity makes some cool OBDII scanning software. I've been wanting that for myself actually. Heh heh heh

For what it's worth the stock Trionic 7 software doesn't seem to have any trouble with the 1/4 mile. But the boost is so heavily limited in the first two gears that it couldn't heat soak too much.
You might try a can of Torco or a mixture of Race fuel. You'd be suprised how much more power higher octane gives a Saab. Dry hot days will always result in less than perfect boost without very high octane.
12 psi does seem excessive cutback though. Were you idling through the staging lanes? If I let the Viggen idle for more than a minute or two it won't run full boost for half an hour or longer. It says in the owners manual not to let the car idle for excessive periods of time, so I simply don't do that anymore. We often push the car in the staging lanes. Usually I turn it on two or three cars before my turn just so that it has a chance to get into it's normal temp operating range and get all the fluids going.
Wish I had tires like yours though. My car usually gets 60' times around 2.5 seconds, and 1/8 times in the 10 second range at 3,000 ft. Waiting for new tires (old ones are bald and un-sticky) before running at sea level. If you watch my 0-100 mph run, the car should be good for high 14's if the tires are sticky enough methinks. Not too shabby for an otherwise stock car. Especially since the trap speeds should be in the 99-102 mph range.

Went to the drag strip last week
Went to Raceway dragstrip last week to test out my new wheels and tires. I met up with Matt, citronxbeige, and I had fun but my times were disappointing. I did three runs and the last was the best of the three. Below Ive compared my best time with the time I put down last week.

The new tires gave me a better launch, but by trap speed was a lot slower. Ive been trying to figure out what was wrong. My first two times were worse due to heat soak, and the ECU was only giving me 10-12 psi boost. This third run was with the MBC but boost was still low. I think the problem is with timing. The ECU pulled back timing on the first run because intake temps were so hot. Without any chance to reset the ECU between runs it kept the timing pushed back until the highway ride home.
I dont think that our Saabs can post good track times with the ECU. The ECU seams to get nervous during Ό mile runs. By the time 3rd gear is hit boost is usually pulled back several psi. Using a MBC is tricky on my Saab because it easily spikes around 30 psi which is dangerous to the engine. Now that I can hook my laptop up to my Saab I am going to monitor ignition timing, boost, temp and a few other sensors to try and fix my Ό times.
