The first Saab I saw when I was in Calgary a few months ago was a lightning blue Viggen rag top.
I wonder what Viggen import numbers are for Canada?

For some reason the number 5 sticks in my head.

Anyone know how many 99's had no sunroof?
I've been told several different stories.
The last time I emailed Saab about it, they didn't have a breakdown on that since it was an "option".

according to a few people that I have chatted with.... on various websites, SOC & the dealership .....
my 5dr silver viggen is the only one of it's kind in north america
due to the orange interior
I do wish it was yellow though

|nbndtrain||Also remember these are US import only numbers. We did get the most Viggens though.|

My dealer had one last month. It was MINT, 35k miles, they were asking about 21k.

Okay.. doing the math here...
Assuming the counts are right.. there were:
504 Lightning Blue Viggens (across all years and styles)
-426 3-dr 1999 Viggens
=78 Lightning Blue Viggens split between Convertible/5-door model.
.... So THAT'S why you never see blue viggen convertibles .... Well, if the weekend goes well.. you all might be seeing one a lot more often O.o

i was telling my ex yesterday that a yellow viggen vert has started screaming my name and that i have to pay my car off and buy one ASAP. He went to the mall after work and no joke there was a yellow viggen vert sitting there!!!!! He took pics and a video of it for me that i got this morning before 8am!
I was so excited i thought that was crazy and i was like dude thats so rare i think there was under 100 yellow viggens, then i get on here to see a count of how many there actually were! Freaking crazy set of events if you ask me!

|06-15-2006 09:08 AM|
|Jameson||I think I heard there were only 14 MCY 3drs made.|
|06-15-2006 08:55 AM|
|AeroDynamic||AWESOME information! I promise to have 1 of the 68 yellow viggens by next summer.|

|06-14-2006 07:39 PM|
colors, also from saabnet:
Ok...so a lot of my friends own Viggens and are starting to get into them. We pretty much have every color going on...and we couldn't help but wonder just how many of each color was brought over, so i emailed saabusa to ask and this was their reply:
This was the total over 1999-2002. Just thought i would share

For those interested, Saab USA customer service was kind enough to pull the following data for me. These numbers represent the total number of each body style Viggen imported into the USA:
1999: 3-door > 426
2000: Convrt > 245
2000: 3-door > 138
2000: 5-door > 421
2001: Convrt > 738
2001: 3-door > 129
2001: 5-door > 285
2002: Convrt > 322
2002: 3-door > 71
2002: 5-door > 157
Totals: 1999 = 426 2000 = 804 2001 = 1,152 2002 = 550
Totals: 3-door = 764 5-door = 863 Convrt = 1,305
