mr.jenkins Hey, I just stumbled across a website They offer some C-com product it is a windows based program supposed to pull up fuel maps, spark, boost all that stuff. Looks interesting.

mr.jenkins There was a guy on eBay with e85 chips for some GM's but nothing for the Saab. Ricot83 any links or anything where I might be able to find something for the motronic online?
05-25-2006 12:41 PM
ricot83 hey guys motronic is on n/a's right???? motronic is easily flashed with shit online, there are tons of things online for it, i think audi uses motronic in some cars.

infamous From what I understand from news clip from Saab and such, they (Saab) have already developed a system that utilizes ethanol (E85) as a fuel source and does it very well too.
Now it just depends on when GM is going to allow them to release the technology.
05-24-2006 06:51 PM
mr.jenkins What about the ethanol idea? This should lower combustion temps enough to allow more boost. Does the ecu need to be chipped to run alchol or can the system adjust itself?

infamous "Just because it's your turn to have an idea does'nt mean that you can't wait until it's a good one..."
Seriously though, if you really applied yourself, you could readily pull this off. Afterall, I could'nt count on both hands and feet the number of non-turboed cars that I've seen turboed..., all that it takes is doing and you won't know until you try!

My animated avatar is still, uh, un-animated...

yea I should have been more clear...I was actually talking about turnign the boost down

WyldSaabMan well at least you picked up on it...It wold be very neat, and easy and cheap to implement, and also easy to adjust boost values...a few turns of the Pots and away ya go
05-04-2006 12:48 PM
90SPG yeah i was wondering why nobody picked up on that.

the APC's may not be fancy and all-knowing like your trionics, but if this is just a fun project car an APC will be a cheap source of insurance.

I already mentioned that, but no one noticed That would be real trick tho

Spoolin900SE yeah well i already have my car to spend all of my money on so i am not looking to spend that much on this project. i already have the turbo, manifold, down pipe, ic, delivery pipe, tb adaptor, stock intake, and all i need is the car and some little pieces that i could make up myself.
05-04-2006 06:38 AM
stevehayes01 If your going to do this project why not do it right and add something like an Apexi Super AFC+B(oost) stand alone EMS combined with a RRFPR and a custom copper head gasket? If you combine that with a Cam set off a turbo head and some good tuning you could probably run as much or more boost than a Trionic controlled car but less knock sensitivity and security.
05-04-2006 06:01 AM
WyldSaabMan haha you could do that, or maybe just put some money into a FMU (rising rate fuel pressure regulator)
05-03-2006 09:44 PM
Spoolin900SE Yeah like other Mark said i really want to do this, i alomst had an auto 2.3 but it had hit a pothole and put a hole in the oil pan and i was worried about the engine being blown so i gave up bidding on it after 600 but now kinda wish i had.
So if you know of any cheap 2.3na's reasonable close to VA/MD let me or other Mark know, i have been keepin tabs on ebay and the paper.
The oil and coolant supplies and returns are there just need to be un pluged and maybe tapped. Just set a mbc at like 5psi and see what happens, if it goes lean ill just throw a resistor on the intake air temp sensor.

Marks9-3 Me and spoolin900se (mark) have a parts 2.3 and are looking to get a semi running 2.3 n/a. We have a t25, extra dp, and exhaust manifold and a welder. Once we get the reasonably running 2.3 I think we will boost it till it blows and see what it can really take. Possibly this summer.

WyldSaabMan haha true true, i was just being optimistic lol
04-26-2006 07:09 PM
JK Another car would probably be needed after doing this sort of thing as well - for reliable transportation. I'd assume there would be many issues to work out after doing this sort of project
04-26-2006 06:08 PM
WyldSaabMan stacking headgaskets could work to lower the compression ratio. WHich is a possibility.

Ethanol would be a neat trick. Id say just throw boost at it, and keep it low and monitor AFR's

another neat trick would be to get an APC from a c900 and use that to control boost based on knock! that would be real trick!

of course another car would be needed to use while doing all of this, so the kid still has reliable transportation
