I know....I also know that I have spent considerable time ironing out the timing and that there are several spots on the map that I have given much attention to and finessed the timing to within 1/2 degree of perfection.
With a global change I then run the risk of having to redo those sensitive areas and address other, new trouble spots. The risk with adding .5 degree globally to a "worked" map is that it could push it over the limit and I don't know in how many places at once I'll have to address the matter. Again, my being laz.,

T5-Suite will do global changes on a table -- no tedium at all. It'll take longer to re-flash the ecu than to change the table.

Cm452 So it turns out Google has a better search algorithm than the forums do...after more extensive searching it turns out that the factory gap on 'em is just right, maybe up to .9mm or .035".
Now, the temptation is to go add a blanket .5 degree advance to the entire global ignition map....ooooh how tedious column by column tuning is

Cm452 I got 'em off ebay for 9GBP +5GBP international shipping from:
4X NGK Copper Core Spark Plug BCR8ES 5430 | eBay
Took about a week to get here. I haven't put them in the engine yet, so, I don't know how they run.
They are obviously a colder plug, with no projector and a shallow and wide recess.I'm psyched!

BCR8ES Gap: Too Tight?

I imported some BCR8's and they come from the factory with a tight gap; .03" tight. I know they are a colder plug, but my knowledge of spark plugs is that their "heat" refers to the design of the insulating cone with respect to the outer, threaded, housing. In this recess is where the heat of a plug is determined(hot plugs hold more heat in this area, colder plugs less so) and not across the gap, IIRC. As such, I feel this gap is too tight--even for my high boost applications (30psi&w/m).
What say you?
