Slow Joe Congrats! I just got my 9-5 Aero and love it as well... However I believe that a Tune/Exhaust are in the near future for mine

mike9000aero it peaks out at 10PSI, which might be more then normal, but i wouldnt know because ive never ridden in a stock LPT 9-5 with a boost gauge

Exactly the problem with the first tune that was on the box, I looked at it and was like wtf, who would do this for a auto car. I think he said he trans was starting to slip or something of the sort.

JK AW trans are pretty damn durable. Obviously there are limits, but they are quite a bit higher than a lot of people assume.

You can certainly go higher than Aero spec. To keep it safe you want torque to not be ridiculous, and you'll want it to come on gradually. There are plenty of people out there with 300+ hp on these boxes. I try to a double drain/fill every 2-3 oil changes on my 9-3.

srp Didn't Supra turbos also use Aisin Warner transmissions?

dan-the-kid I forget exactly what I put on there....it was a tune made for him by steve hayes after he got a *questionable* tune from a former forum member, IIRC.

I think it its tuned, but nothing crazy. I may infact still have the file somewhere....

Green9kAERO haha that sounds fair....

its been running great for me, but i believe its lacking a tuned ECU at this point... i dont care too much because its getting 25mpg, which is better then anything else i own

chriscam84 NIIICE!

Congrats JP on buying a "grown-up's" car

christian900se If the Aisin Warner auto is similar in 9-5's to my ng900's, it can take a whole lot of power and abuse. I have been running for a year and a half at 285whp and 290ft#s without the slightest hiccup from the transmission. It just pulls and pulls and yet can feel stock when you drive it normally, which to me is the ultimate benefit to having an automatic.

Raven18940 I'd only push the 4 speed as far as Aero spec. However, for DD duties Aero spec is quite enough power for 99% of situations.

dan-the-kid Jeeps use aisin warner trans too, I just found that out recently.

I've seen that car...put a file on the ECU for him too.

got a new DD;) again

a 2000 9-5 auto... formerly Saabblackmans car....

so far im liking it, but seeing as it is a T7 engine, with 200k, its kinda waiting to explode...... and when that happens a set of b234 slugs will be installed with T5 cams for durability purposes....

but seeing as it has a slushbox i wanna know how far i can go while maintaining transmission reliability, with a somewhat forgiving driving style....
