Saabeh | open the trunk, the hinge on the left is where the wiring issues arise. Peel back the rubber hose covering the wires, discover bent and sad wires. Takes like 5 mins to look at. |

kalbers | Ya the mechanism wasn't working at all, couldn't get it to unlock. Now it seems to be working again In the cold. Some water maybe got to it. I'll inspect the wiring to be sure |

nowhereman | OH YEAH... i totally forgot about that. I re-soldered my wiring when it happened so it didn't happen again. Mine started with brake light problems. |

Saabeh | The sedans had wiring problems at the trunk hinge. I bet its a coincidence that this happens in the cold. Examine the wires, I bet you have some frayed ones. |

I've never owned a sedan, but on my wagon I just push the button on the door and it just cycles, and then I go out back to pop the latch/open it. Is the sedan different? are you expecting it to open on its own? Is the mechanism not working at all? Have you tried just lubing up the parts with some grease? |

nowhereman | it is probably stuck/frozen. easiest fix is a new trunk release. you may want new upgraded struts for the trunk as well. then it might pop open when you hit the release (i always wanted to this but never got around to it) |

Trunk won't open in below 37degree weather Car is an 02 9-5 and I'm cold weather below 37 degrees. Once it's warmer it works fine. When I press the button I can hear it sent a signal to the trunk actuator but nothing will happen. Any ideas? |
