Tboy KatsKinz does not do Saabs, and I haven't had any luck getting any response from them on what it would take to have them do saabs. Too bad too, cause a new interior for my mazda millenia (front and rear seat leather) is only about 600 dollars (and they do insert colors etc and piping). They are somehow affiliated (or own) autoleathers.com, this is the online dealer for Katzkinz. I emailed them a while back and got pricing on leather hides, 1/2 hides are 150 dollars, and full hides are 300, and they only sell in half hide minimum (thats if I remeber this all corectly).

Call em up and see if you can get some samples. Im not sure if the price is competitive, but thats the only place I know of to buy hides.

kwkslvr Yah quick4door! haha, thanks man. Well, I do know that i was going to somethin close to a viggen interior on my 99 9-3 and I was getting quotes from him a while back...MAybe not EXACTLY like one, but pretty damn close id assume. Also the katzkin name sounds familiar that might have been another place as well.

Viggen Dave Thanks for the lead... I searched and came up with an outfit called "Katzkin," but the thread ended with "they don't do Saabs any more." Is that the one you were referring to?

kwkslvr There was a post a while pack about a shop that did all new seat refurbishing, (new hides, insert, custom stiching ). Either it was just a refferal or it was a site members shop. I believe (dont quoute me) someone with the member name consisting of "4-door" Had something to do with it. I cant remember the whole name lol. Not much help i know, but do a search.

EDIT: Ha, just saw you are from texas. This shop was in the CONN. area. So, not sure if that would be any help to you. Goodluck nonetheless!

Source for Blue Viggen Leather?

Does anyone know of a source for the blue leather used in the Viggen seat inserts? Or a reasonable facsimile thereof?

I'd like to buy a hide or two against the day when my seats need to be redone. The dealer sells a seat bottom cover for about $500, and a similar price for the seatback cover. Absurd!

I've searched the internet and eBay without success.

So, is there an alternative to the exorbitant dealer price?

Thanks!

Dave
