hello everyone!

alirght, let me introduce myself since im new to the forums

my name is dan and i live in southern VA... and im 16 (17 on apr. 28th) and i have a 1998 saab 900s n/a

my stuff is 100% stock except for a new head unit i had installed (i took the stock one out and replaced it with a dual xd7500 head unit ...
i really want to get into the whole DIY/modification stuff b/c it seems like it can be a whole lot of fun

anyway, i need somewhere to start... what do you think i should do first? ive been looking for intakes kits and the only one i could find was on genuinesaab.com

by the way, i dont necessarily need to start off by dropping money into my car... im good with doing free little mods too, its just i dont really know what to do... ill even paint things, i just dont really know wut to paint and what paint to use and etc if u get my drift, below is a pic of my engine and stuff so u guys can get an idea of what im working with

are there any others? is the one on genuinesaab.com good? any help with that?

im really looking to do anything and everything to my car. i dont care whether its replacing headlights or dropping in a new intake, i want to start this. only problem is, im 16 and i dont really have anyone that has or could teach me things. so all i ask is that u give directions try to be as explicit as possible as what to do, otherwise ill probly end up getting lost. pics are always good too.

im not asking for a whole lot, im just wondering where people like that rob guy who has that sweet saab with the yellow interior, where he started, or any recomendations you guys have. thanks, dan

ps. what are those angel eyes things? did you buy them or make em yourself cuz there fricking awesome...

Whats up guys, welcome to the site.

I just did some exhaust work on my mom's 98 900s.

Don't forget to pop into the New Members section, to say hi and get a proper greeting.

check out my intake setup and robs, its a pretty cheap mod to do from the little MAF down (MAF is the black plastic with the sensor built in)...

www.cardomain.com/id/citronxbeige

i think thats it. its a good place to start for DIY motor mods....appearance is good to do clear corners first

about the unit thing, its not an actual UNIT, its just a space filler

like, when i took the stock headunit out, there was a big hole in the dash obioiuvsly

the head unit is mounted by iteslf, so there was still that gap underneath it, and i went to my local audio store and got a little piece of black dashborad type scrap and just made it fit

also, for audio stuff check out the forums at www.underthedash.com those guys really know their audio stuff

When I had my new head unit installed, I was told the adapter for a Ford F-150 apparently fit, and it gives me a nice little slot just below the cd player to hold things like a pen and directions to wherever I'm headed.
