Ignition box and coil, I can has upgrade?

Wow. This forum is chock full of three threads.

Will a Crane/MSD ignition box and coil play nice with a 1994 Saab 900 (n/a)?

TIA

Thats what Mike Connoly was running on meatball. A full MSD kit, of some sorts. Actually, he still has the whole setup and would prolly part with it for a real reasonable price.

Awesome!

Seriously Topher, that would probably be the next thing you should consider for this car.

Yes, Crane is what he had. Also an 'aggressive' Port & Polish. It's hard to find much info or pictures of the 'meatball' these days. He used to post at TSN, if anyone has any photo of the car or his dyno sheets archived they should share them.

Who is he? And how do I contact him?

Is this the guy with the 300hp 900 with mysterious mods and rubbing alcohol in the tank, that I always hear about?

Yea thats the guy, I have his email and phone number. He's an incredibly nice guy, and really does know what he's talking about.

Also, Jak Stoll might be able to shed some light on this. I believe Jack has photos of Mike's car on his website as a customer car, so he probably give a bit of info about it.

But, emailing Mike might be the best way to go about getting the info on how to set it up.

Try it an let us know. Also there was a member (Rhich) that machined custom super dizzys, but getting him to ship parts was a bit tricky.

One of his dizzys was given away at NESA meet back in 04 I think.

I know this has been addressed, but I would assume with upped compression and better ignition control in conjunction with some very basic breating modifications and an EUC tuned to suit we would could see at least 200bhp out of one of these motors.

I really don't think that's too much of a stretch either. 300bhp on the other hand, unless I see some proof...

I could see hitting the 300BHP mark... if you built the bottom end to rev to 9k like a honda.
