Is my boost gauge off?

Its a glow shift. I just installed it. When the car is off the gauge is reading a vac level of about 1. Could there be a slight vac left for it to read?

But then I asked Mike D because he is the one who tuned my car and he said it should be around 16psi in 3rd gear. My gauge is reading around 18, maybe even a little more. That could be unrelated and thats fine though.

While off you boost gauge should be reading 0 as in atmosphere pressure only, no vacuum no boost pressure

It will read zero if its an analog gauge. If its electric (as some of the glowshifts are) then the needle should fall to the lower limit.

Hmm, not sure what my glowshift is, I will let you know if it reads 0 or lower limit next time I go down to my car.
