the basic's for now

How we doing peolpe.
I just picked up this kick ass 01 93. Guy sold it to me for $500 because he could not get the car to run. Not only dId I get the car to run (with the help of a member on here) but it runs strong. I haven't Evan got b the thing registered yet and all ready love the car.

So to the basics. What do you guy recommend for basic maintenance. What kind of oil, tranny fluid (oh she's a 5 speed), filters is there any thing I should check rite away.
she's got some miles on her 230000. What do you all recommend

Engine oil: Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 every 4k
Trans: Saab MTF 0063 or Royal Purple Synchromesh every 20-30k

I suggest changing all the vacuum lines and installing new spark plugs (NGK BCPR7ES).

Yeah, do what Saabeh says and establish some maintenance baseline data. See if you can get some history on it so you know what's already been done. Check for sludge (although that would have killed it by now) and look for loose suspension components, brakes issues, and oil or coolant leaks. Good Luck, I have an '00 9-3 SE daily driver that I really like!
