where is everyone ?

You know...... Once apon a time.... this forum was busy.. and there was always lots of interesting things going on,,
all the big hp guys where here.. this was the forum to be on.

Now this place is a ghost town.. Tumble weeds everywhere.

I got a rwd thread going on ....its either drop dead boring or no body cares because its in a Toyota..?
I got like 3 or 4 random posts in it.... WTF?
I'm thinking about closing my thread and just continuing on in my Toyota forums.. Plenty of interest over there..

what happened around here?? Did a bomb go off and take every one out?

Is everyone now driving a Scoobie or Honda??

WTF happened to TSL?

I personally can't find any saab projects that i want to take on and currently have 3 subarus and a miata... can't speak for everybody else. two years ago i would have been doing a rwd setup right along with you but due to transition in life it probably wont ever happen now. best of luck with the project. i think a lot of motivation people had was lot when saab went under because it seems like most saabs are just getting scrapped these days post saab.

I'm on SaabRally a lot, but all the big fab jobs there are pretty long term projects, and we all have fairly demanding jobs.

The last few years for me have mostly been doling out repair advice I learned running the shop. The other two frequent techs JustinHiFi and Chadwick both have German car shops now... Haven't talked to Marty in a long time... IronJoe and Kaylan are around but not around....

I seen this asked on another Saab site in the recent weeks. It seems the lot of Saab enthusiasts is decreasing and as posted moved on to more modern model of car.

This place is pretty busy compared to other Saab forums...

The number of Classic enthusiasts is thinning rapidly...

Too busy fixing my own SAABs, fixing other peoples SAABs (or Subarus and German cars) or chasing my 2 year old around! Plus, it's a very short Summer in VT! I'm quick to share some advice but build threads etc seem to be too much work on top of everything else.

Oddly, various Facebook pages seem to get a lot of activity. If I need a part or some help, that's where I usually post.

I need something a little larger and with less miles to haul my kids around.

Don't despair.

FWIW, I'll always have SAAB or three. I post more in the winter.

I envy those with the time to both post and take on RWD swaps!

I'm easily distracted, I have a 98 E38 that needs attention also. This site though is my go to for any Saab issue I've had. Love this place even if it's quieter.

That's a good point. Our local saab club has tons of people posting on the Facebook page, but no one takes the time anymore to check out hobby-specific websites. Just the way internet habits are going these days.

I care to share less here. But it isn't just here, I don't feel like alot of what I do needs to be put across the net (FB mostly).

I have the same feeling... On my Viggen build thread I kind of felt like I was talking to myself most of the time! The only reason I updated it is because my friend across the globe asked me to so that he could keep updated...

well.. I'm glad I got people thinking anyway..

I am also on a Saab performance page with Facebook.. It get lots of hits.

But its boring stuff..

Like,: can I put a BOV on T7?

I'm new what upgrades can I do to my Saab?

and the old favorite... Can I put another IC on my car... If so which one??

All these questions get asked like ten times a day..

If only these newbie's would get on a forum,,, They would learn so much.

I miss the old TSL

I was pretty inactive on here for a while because all of my old Saab's died due to rust and I had a Protege5 and a Miata as my only cars for a while. Now that the P5 has been replaced with a 9-5 I'll be more active on here.
I've def noticed this site is a lot slower than it used to be.

usually when you don't get any responses on a build thread it can be a combination of things:

1. people feel your well enough on your own and don't have much to add to what your doing.

2. Nothing Unique going on.

3. The hater-ade

4. Mostly though, if your consistent you will catch a response here and there... check your thread counter... generally people look at builds for ideas/inspirations to do their own cars..

I lurked across many build threads that were amazing and I totally used as a blue print but never posted within.,.

you will always be able to do someone some good just keep posting...

BUT (not trying to be a downer) I don't find GM builds exciting atall... usually skip right over them..

that's another thing.... we will have to see if there are any NG 900's around in 10 years...

Not sure enthusiasts will be as quick to save them as once with the classics...

that's gunna be a huge hurdle to overcome... they just are not desirable... and I tried to like them.... its tough...

its more exciting to see NG parts used to save Classics...

only 1 nice 9K project going on here now...

Me too. It's still in storage since Oct. I hardly ever get a chance to drive it. Plus the boss took over the garage for her car.

Haha, if you think TSL is dead check out ECUPROJECT; DAMN! It doesn't help that there was a disintegration of the founders, with Dilemma splitting off into VAG world or something, and the nooob brigade taking over. Moreover, and perhaps worse yet, there was a subtle change in domain/name and now, ostensibly, there are two ECUproject forums: one is legit, the other is a cess-pool which, like any neglected body, has become covered with cyber-moss, rot, and infested with bottom feeding trolls. So sad!
It is quiet on TSL now, but the Saab nutters remain. At least we didn't have happen what happened over at SC...
