99 9-3 Axle removal

Hey guys i need to replace my front drivers side cv joint which apparently comes as the entire drivers side axel assembly. I just replaced the entire strut assembly so im annoyed i didnt notice the issue when i was doing that but ive seen a few different threads saying different things about replacing the axle. Is there a basic how to or guide available that i havent been able to find. Main thing im trying to find out is if i need to remove the strut assembly again or if separating the ball joints will give me enough play to get the axel out and new one in. Thanks!

Here is a link to a good DIY 10.02.2005: Saab NG900 Front Suspension Short answer, no, but you need to disassemble about 1/2 what you have already done.

Should be able to remove it just by popping the ball joint. Its been a few years, but I believe I did it that way.
