Big day for Madge.

First warranty service (with me, at least).

Getting the pesky window creak fixed, as well as the dead SID pixels and finding out where the rear squeak is coming from, also the rear leak. And finding out about CPO (per Stromer's suggestion).

This should be fun. We're making a little road trip out of it, my dealer sucks so we're going to Saab City in Framingham (per MattLach's suggestion).

Wish me luck.

Warranties are great aren't they? I had one of those mandatory 30 day ones on my car when I bought it and I had at least half a dozen little things fixed (cabin temp sensor fan, heated seat, etc).

Lucky girl. My warranty ran out 20 years ago. Haha I'd have them busy for a week if I could have them fix every little squeek and rattle.

Love your warranty. Use your warranty. It will not be around forever!

Very wise words. I'm not saying beat the car, but don't baby it so problems will show if they're there. And be very observant of little things. But I think you know about all this by then.

I really hope you have a good experince with the dealer Matlach suggested. From my experience, I used the CPO at two different dealers. One was reluctant to put anything under warranty, and they other one put EVERYTHING under warranty. The CPO really is party only as good as the dealer doing the work.

Well, they didn't have a word to say to me, but they did replace my SID. Now it's nice and clear and no dead pixels. I also ended up chasing a near-mint 99 around Cambridge in the pouring rain with MattLach and Mr. Guru. Pictures to follow!

She stalled this morning, but according to both of the dealers I've gone to with that are saying that it's because of the change to ethanol. It only happens when it's wet out though, I don't get it!

I call bullshit on that one! My car is fine with the 10% ethanol, if not better. I'd say reconfirm the problem with another dealer, or keep bringing it back to the dealer you're with now with the stalling problem until they make it right.

my car runs really well on the ethanol mix as well. or maybe that was just swapping the cps....either way, my car runs well with the new gas.
