The bumper cover is pretty easy to remove. It attaches to the fender liner, fender and plastic under-trays with small hex or torx screws. There's a plastic clip that slides into each fender, and two large bolts (maybe 15 or 16mm) that connect the bumper to the frame.

I'd take out the headlights, undo the bolts underneath that attach the assembly to the car and then work on separating the cover form the bumper rail/foam

Yep...remove headlights, remove screws on fender liners and under trays, remove big bolts, unclip bumper cover from fender. Disconnect thermometer and fog lights.

Should slide right out

Also remove grill first (unsnaps), remove corner lights (required to get headlights out), disconnect fogs, and I think you need to disconnect the washer line as it runs through the bumper (not sure, been a while).

Other way around. The grill is fitted over the headlights. Just squeeze the two clips at the top on the left and right sides lightly together and pull it straight up and off. Take it off first.
