Question Looking at exaust

So, considering buying a new cat back exaust for the 9-3...... is the Saabsport exaust the best one or the most recomended? or is there something else I should look at?

Saab sport is nice.

heard good things about ferrita

JT is full 3" but not stainless and the downpipe I beleive is ceramic core not metallic core like the taliaferro downpipe.

I love my Saab sport - I couldn't be happier. there was a thread a while back that Nick T posted regarding some testing he did with different sized exhaust piping. IIRC, the general conclusion was that the 2.5" pipe provided minimum restriction to exiting exhaust gases, while smaller pipes provided more restriction and larger pipes provided too little restriction which resulted in turbulence which decreased the efficiency of the system...

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend the Saab sport exhaust. Very good stuff

You'll be glad you did - and I think that's the second time I've posted that statement today...

I couldn't possibly be happier with my GS intake + Saab sport catback exhaust combo - well, I can't wait for the GS 3" racecat DP I plan to order next month *grin*

Great thread. Installed the Saab Sport exhaust 9 years ago when I bought the car. Good to know I did the right thing!

I only want stainless so the JT is out. Abbott has a stainless catback now for 595lbs, so thats like 1150 USD which its worth it to me. I would do that in conjunction with the GS downpipe.

why get an abbott. just get a saabsport and bend the hangars a little bit. that way it is less than half price of the abbott.

I was told the saabsport will not fit a Viggen. Its just a matter of bending hangers? Cuz I think I found some saabsports for like 300 bucks.

Saab sport fitted with viggen bumper:

You could probably bend the hangars even better and get it more towards the middle but this is OK, I have the double walled tip and it is great so far. just louder than I expected. put a new flex pipe too. oh well it makes me take it easy around town so I don't attract to much attention.

I will go that route then. Do all hangers have to be bent? I would have my dealer, Reinersten put this on.
