Personal Quirks, Habits, ect

I was thinking today as I looked at my SID with the infamous missing pixels, "OoO its 51 Degrees out I can wash my car!".

So I did.

Then I had an epiphany! Surely everyone must have their own quirks and habits about their saabs. Now with recovering frostbitten fingers, ill say that I feel compelled to wash my car when ever the weather outside hits 50 Degrees, whats yours?

I'll wash my car whenever I feel like it I did a hand wash in my driveway in the middle of February when it was 28 degrees outside (thanks hot water), pulled the car inside and dried it off.

I'm REALLY picky about dust on the inside of the car, especially on the dash top. I HATE looking at that stuff.

don't know if this counts but I have a bad habit of holding my right hand on the auto shift lever, as if I am gonna shift or something.

and I hate hearing rattles or things moving around in the little door pocket things.

hmm where do i start?

How about yesterday when it was raining outside... and i had mud up to my roof from driving down my road the day before (stupid car with no mud flaps) So i get off work at 5... pull around out back to our wash bays... completely wash the car (wheels and everything) and THEN i dried it off too... just so i could know it DID look nice before i went out for a spin in the rain

Then this morning i get into the car and realize theres a little dist on top of the steering wheel there by where you look at the speedo... so i had to find something to clean it and the whole dash with.

I wipe off finger prints everytime my cars clean (they show up so well on the black paint)

I get mad when my mom gets out of the car and puts her foot on the black door trim Its going to get scratched!

I constantly touch up the black mesh in my grill (the paint gets dinged all the time)

I drive with the sunroof poped up even when its raining (what a ricer habbit huh?)

Fog lights are ALWAYS on (front)

Dont let people ride in the back seat (unless i go to a party and bring a friend and then find my drunk brother somewhere... then i will throw him in the back and get him home safe

Im not anil about anything normally but with my car im sooo picky!!

My cars gotta be clean inside! I can't stand my friend's cars that have garbage (litterally trash) all over the inside of the car. I also drive with my right hand on the e-brake . And I am picky about not sitting on the side bolsters of the seats when entering and exiting because it will (eventually) wear the leather out. And I ALWAYS knock the dirt off my shoes before getting in.

There is no trash in my car. Well, there is, but I actually have a nice little lined black bag that I got from Target that velcros in next to the passenger seat, and that's where all the trash goes.

That's a sharp contrast from when I used to drive the family's Volvo 850 - people couldn't even sit in the back seat. I'd clean that car out monthly, and I always filled up a large trash bag (or two!) with all the crap that was in there.

Not so with the Saab. I empty out that little trash receptacle at the end of each week.

you got one of those too? Mine hangs over the back passenger seat so it is out of view when driving but I can reach over and drop stuff in it.

I got one for mrs abdukted's VW but still her car ends up with crap all oer the backseat like wrappers etc... she does not empty hers as often as I.

Car is kept clean inside. I clean the exterior whenever time is available and when I'm not being lazy... I'm not sure if the water restrictions are still in effect. Food is prohibited from the car. Drinks are ok as long as it's water or bubble tea.

Yeah i dont really ever eat in the car. We can go through a drive through but we dont eat until we get somewhere, and the drinks have to stay in the center consol cup holders because if they spill i just run it through the dishwasher All of my trash goes in my purse so that it gets thrown out as soon as i try to get something out of it! I do have about 5 tools on the floor of the passenger side front (on the winter rubber mat though!) and also i have my new transmission spacer/ dust gaurd thing. I didnt get it in time to put it in during the install but i will change it next time it needs new oil!

Oh one more thing.... i will never ever wear jeans again with those gay little jewels on the back those F%&^*#@ things scratched up my seat. Took me hours to condition it enough to make them almost completely gone.

Good tip about the jewels on the back pockets KM!!

No food in my car...EVER. I am allowed to drink water but nobody else can have any food or drink. No trash in my car...EVER.

This wasn't funny at the time although it's kinda funny now, SilverAeroGuy had some awful food poisoning a few months ago thanks to a bad piece of sushi. I called him from work to see how he was doing that day. I told him, "If you still can't keep any water down, or if you get a fever, I'm taking you to the hospital. And if you puke in my car, I will throw you out in the snow." Fortunately there was no hospital trip.

My mother (who I do not get along with) never has anything nice to say to me. But I'll always cherish that one day when I had to give her a ride to the airport and she looked inside my car and said, "Your brother's car always looks like such a garbage dump. Yours is so clean." I don't even know how my brother has enough space to drive his car is so full of shit. Whereas mine is always spotless inside. I even waxed the inside of the spare tire well once....but just once because I realized that was just toooo much.

if its warm enough ill do that (cause if its warm enough, my ski racks not on there, cause it makes a ton of noise), if my dads in the car, regardless of temperature, either a window or the sunroof is cracked, he smokes a pipe, so the window lets the smoke out

i always have trash all over my car, its a mess

aparently the passenger side seatbelt part that you plug the belt into sticks, but it doesnt bother me, cause i dont sit over there

the passenger side in the back has a seatbelt that wont come out at all, so im limited to 2 passengers plus me driving, one more passenger if they dont mind sitting in the middle of the back

That and scented lotions.

Studded belts are also a big no no in my car.

Come to think of it, I don't even know if I can trust the cupholders in my car... they seem to be completely useless. The fold out one is flimsy and the other one is in, of all places, the center armrest.
