Viggen Radio Reception - FMMOD02 AUX

Alrighty, so a little while ago I did the FMMOD02 to get the AUX into my stock radio in the vig. Installed it the same as sallythesaabs LBV; but just bought both adapters and taped them nice and tight. A note worth mentioning is that he said he had reception issues as well......that's why I'm posting.

Haven't really been driving it but when I have driven it I've had the AUX plugged to pandora... and it's just like his, crystal clear (for the most part)

Now driving it almost exclusively during the week and the radio (FM) reception is horrible........wicked horrible. Not "radio not coming in as good" bad.... more like "I could be sitting under the radio tower and it's still fuzzy" bad.

The aerial is amped, I get that. What I'm trying to decipher is how the system works. Is it like the old fashion deals from Radioshack that merely amplify the signal in the line? Or, is the antenna lead like a circuit; as in, the antenna lead must contact the radio (actually plugged into the radio). This might not make sense, but if it's the case, it would explain a lot.

Having the AUX input is great......when you want it; but unlike sallythesaab, I have stations around here I listen to, so the trade-off is questionable. If this is the case, might try to put in a CD/tape deck and try that route.
