Radio code...

So, my car wouldn't start, the battery died. So I go pick up a new battery, plug it in, everything works fine except the radio needs a code. Of course, I don't have this code, as thats my luck and the PO apparently didnt save it. I really want to avoid going to the dealer, is there any alternative?

Look in your owners manual. It's a 4 digit code. It may be written somewhere in there. If not, you can always call the dealership with the VIN number of the car and they'll be able to tell you what it is - either way, you shouldn't be charged.

Check the top/back of the radio. I've seen a dozen saabs with them written on it somewhere. All of mine and my friends had it there written by old owners or mechanics

Its a Service free of charge at any dealer. I've done that many times just head on over and go to the service area and tell them you need the code for your radio, and they will look it up in their nefty super smart box. And bang! pesto! abracadbra! your radio will be working in no time.
